Looking at the two cast lists they appear to be keeping some aspect of Dee's commune house (Gloria), Anna's middle class (Polytechnic lecturer) husband (Jack), the record company from the second series (David and Kitty) and their manager/songwriter is from the second series (Harry) rather than from the first series. I'd love to know who is playing the Julie Covington role. In the original the Carly and Zizi roles were significantly worse singers than her. Surely some sort of a 'name'? I know she’s busy/not technically the “right age”, but would love to see Our Bev in this.

100% not happening at the Apollo, it's at a very different theatre (not on Shaftesbury Ave) Princess Theatre, Torquay?

I came here to say how wonderful it is to see an older actress playing Maria in this production!
Indeed, Mary Martin was 45 when she originated the role…

Also of interest is Wilson’s “Pine Cones and Holly Berries” from the score for his musical adaptation of “Miracle on 34th Street” - “Here’s Love”.
The latter part of the song features a lovely counterpoint with “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas”.

Point on theatre sizes taken, but I am still correct in saying there's a section of the country left out of this tour. Schlepping it to London for us it is then. You are correct, but I’ve also explained why.

You’ve got North East with Sunderland, but it won’t play near London so as to not compete with the West End production. I meant East East! I feel the latter part of my post answers your question. That and a lack of theatres sizeable enough for the show.

Can you elaborate on which section of country is being missed? Looks pretty well covered to me. Visiting all the bigger theatres in major touring locations. Well - and keeping in mind my geography is shocking so I'm absolutely prepared to be told off here - I don't see anything for the east? You’ve got North East with Sunderland, but it won’t play near London so as to not compete with the West End production.

It’s on the ATG webpage for The Fortune, and apparently goes onsale in 5 minutes.

This will be coming back for another run. Is this confirmed anywhere or just insider info? The latter.

Definitely hearing a return for Alexia Khadime as Elphaba, joining Ryan Reid as Fiyero and Lucy St. Louis joining as Glinda for Wicked’s first ever all-black trio.

I may have been thrown slightly wide of the mark with LH, though her name was mentioned.
I’m hearing the previous Elphaba set to rejoin is AK.

Wires crossed. LH was offered but turned it down. Previous Elphaba set to make a long overdue return.

I really, really hope this is true! Laura Harrison to be promoted to principal Elphaba at cast change. STC, as always, but that’s what the grapevine has told!

Excellent. Now please promise me it's not CHF as Katherine and I don't care what else they do (probably). It’s Bronté Barbé.

Hadn’t realised until today that there’s a song in common between BTTF and Jersey Boys. Yep, Earth Angel. Is this the first time 2 shows have run at the same time with the same song? There have been other examples in jukebox shows. For example, “What’s Love Got To Do With It” is in both Tina and Moulin Rouge.

Did anyone see that post from someone on one of those dreadful MT Facebook groups describing Gina Beck as sounding like “bad Reba”? (McIntyre I presume). They also found R&H’s overture to be “unimaginative”. Lol. Are they referring to this production specifically? Because it doesn’t use the original overture.

The character is never referred to as Mama Rose in the text, only ever Madame Rose.

Picture a venn diagram...
On one side - Jukebox Musicals (shows which use pre-existing pop songs to tell an original story, like We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia, & Juliet)
On the other - Bio Musicals (shows which use an original score to tell the whole or part of the life story of a famous person, like Evita, Barnum, Diana)
In the middle - Jukebox Bio Musicals (shows which do the latter using the music of the former, like Tina, MJ, Beautiful)
...that’s how I tend to think of it!
