I'm currently on Harmony of the Seas and saw the show which was Grease last night and I have definitely seen worse in a stationary theatre let alone one that was moving. It was a 90 minute straight through version so there was some chopping but all the main parts still there.
The theatre is a better standard than many I've been in and has all the bells and whistles, such as lifts and people coming down from the fly space and automated scenery etc. The set was very Legally Blonde at the curve. I took a picture for anyone who's interested.
I've noticed Royal Carribean seem to have a thing for film versions of musicals that John Travolta has been in. They currently have Saturday Night Fever, Grease, and Hairspray across their various ships.

Coincidentally I set sail from Barcelona with Royal Carribean on their brand new ship on Sunday and can not wait! Got the shows booked already which on the Harmony are Grease, and their own original musical Columbus! Which is billed as spamalot meets something rotten. Excited!

Anyone have a rough idea of running time based on the US Run? Debating a Sunday matinee, and want to know if the last direct train is achievable.

Saw this in Blackpool this afternoon and not really knowing what to expect after hearing about the scaling down for the tour and the use of recordings, and although I can't base it on previous productions as I havnt seen it before I'm pleased to say I enjoyed it.
Slight apprehension beforehand, As Dirty Dancing probably draws the same crowd as Mama Mia, and having experienced that on a Saturday night in Blackpool that wasn't something I wanted to repeat as a bit of a purist. But om the whole a well behaved audience.
Johnny is played by the guy who played Nick Massey on the Jersey Boys tour, and found it amusing that it was a bit like Nick had got a summer job away from the four seasons working as a Dancer, as the accent and look were almost identical.
Overall a fun afternoon at the theatre and another show ticked off the list.

In Hull, the new theatre is closed for the year for its refurbishment, so no panto there. Instead a temporary big top theatre is being set up at the Lighstream stadium with Linda Lusardi, The Grumbleweeds and Zippy and George in Cinderella.
At the Hull truck this year they are doing Treasure Island

I booked my ticket to School of Rock thru Seetickets when they released additional seats in the Stalls a couple of weeks ago, for a preview performance in November. The charge stayed on pending for 10 days on my credit card and then disappeared altogether. I have not been charged and I have not received the ticket. Does anyone know if that is normal practice for Seetickets? I would maybe get in touch with them just to check. When I booked with them for this, they ended up changing me twice and I got two sets of tickets, even though I only booked the once. The customer service was very good though and they refunded it no problem.

Slightly less adventurous, but I'm doing Dublin in a day for Big at Christmas. Main reason for that was £20 return flights from Mancheater, which is quicker and cheaper than the train to London which I do a lot.
Would love to do a New York trip purely for theatre, but not sure that's one for on my own, so need to find a theatre loving wife! 😊

I survived! I'm here! Sorry, I often forget the international section exists and tens just to frequent the general, plays and musical section. I had a great weekend, it was all plain skating, thanks to all your help, and considering my next trip already! I can confirm I am not the replacement pearl though.

They all wear capes and dangly clothing whilst going through, it struck me how quick the flame came back on each time. So surely something built in.

Been a solo theatre goer, I slipped in 15 minutes before for both parts on Sunday with no problems whatsoever. With regards to the heat, I was wearing short sleeves but didn't notice it being any warmer than a standard theatre.

Mind, at one point in the first half I did think that the plot belonged more in Doctor Who than Harry Potter. Saw both parts today too, and I had that exact same thought about half way through part 2. However not necessarily a bad thing. I'm still taking it all in!

Can't decide if I want to see this, so about to sit down and watch the film, which I've just discovered for £3 in Tesco to help me decide.

. Speaking of the Tony Awards, is there anyway to watch the different performances? Barring the opening number, nothing seems available on YouTube, which is surprising. There also seems little in the way of acceptance speeches. When searching last week I came across a website. If you google Just Jared, the top link, has pretty comprehensive coverage of the Tonys including videos of all the performances.

Managed to get a return flight for £20 to Dublin, from Manchester so the day trip to see Big is on! This is actually cheaper and quicker than my usual London trips on the train.
