Another spreadsheet here. Show titles in rows, years in columns. Stupidly I track ticket prices too which is terrifying. 1041 shows and counting.... 😁

I think I've now seen every English-speaking series and season that there is to see. I'm ready for more. Bring on 3rd January.

They don't get many votes overall do they. This is supposed to be a TV audience of millions.
And of course Cher sounded good, she was miming! I do wish she'd sing live every now and again.

I guess the people in the know can make the use of it then, I'll just have to see if dynamic pricing kicks in tomorrow.

Alex Lodge has posted that he's playing Henry between 4th and 6th December, if anyone wants to catch him in the role.
He's also posted the code TWWCAST for anyone looking for discounts.

Caught the matinee yesterday, some good music in there and Nicole Raquel Dennis and Sam Ferriday are great, but otherwise it feel like a very lethargic slog and a chore to get through. I didn't feel it told the story well and the pace dragged a lot.

I literally saw the last 20 seconds and that was enough to make me wince. It's my era and I should love everything about it but it looks like a car-crash waiting to happen. I'll be reviewing in Milton Keynes in March so I'll make sure they throw some wine in to numb the pain 🤣

Ian McIntosh has posted on his Instagram Stories that he was in a recording studio and tagged the show in it. Potential for a cast recording? The vocals in the tour are incredible, particularly Ian and Hannah Richardson as well.

July feels early for SITR to finish, they do normally announce both together but maybe they're still finalising a second show. We can hope!

Caught this over the weekend, not my usual cup of tea at all but I really enjoyed it. There's something wonderfully charming about it and Jenna Russell is equal parts heartbreaking and joyous. The music did absolutely nothing for me (about 5 minutes in I thought I was going to hate the whole thing), but as a show I had a lovely time.

This was a massive miss for me. I normally love an obscure cult musical but this was a case of excellent leads saving a poor production of a weak musical that couldn't decide what tone it was trying to go for. Some of its charm may have been lost from the dodgy sound and I will give the cast recordings a try, but otherwise I'm very glad I didn't pay for it!

Agreed. Can barely make out anything in the group numbers. And still waiting for one good song.

Sorry to detract from the reviews - has anyone sat Row N of the stalls, do you miss much from the overhang? Trying to avoid paying the next price banding up 🤣 Yes, I was central row N - I didn't feel like I missed anything at all from the overhang and felt surprisingly close, I wouldn't go up a price band to be a tiny bit nearer. Thank you so much, that's really helpful. I'll get booking. Much appreciated 😁

I've booked to see the November Cardigan Hall concert and just wondering if anyone has any idea how long it's likely to be? I'm trying to book trains home These things are generally around 2 hours including interval.

It's worth seeing for Matt and Ana if nothing else, they're brilliant and really elevate it. And the orchestra sound fabulous.

No I agree with you, a lot of the rest of the album is stronger than the singles so far.

I agree with a lot of that.
Bio-musicals where the artist didn't really have much of a dramatic story are always a bit unfulfilling. "Wanted to become famous....Did". It's true of so many of them (Beautiful, On Your Feet...), and it doesn't make good theatre regardless of how strong their catalogue of music is/was. The one exception is Tina, as it tells a genuinely strong story.

I've had it pretty much on a loop since Friday, it's joint-second in my album rankings with Light Years (Fever is first!). I could've done without Hands or Love Train but otherwise it's a blinder 😁

5-star performances from Matt Doyle as Frank and Ana Villafañe as Ava Gardner, and a fabulous orchestra. Phoebe Panaretos and Dawn Buckland also very good as Nancy and Mrs Sinatra respectively.
It's a 3-star show overall though, standard bio-musical fare with few surprises and lacking a bit of theatricality. There are too many songs (although some nice lesser-known inclusions) and it feels overlong (19.35-22.15).
But worth it for Matt who is pure Broadway and sounds like a dream. And there's a surprisingly wonderful duet with Ryesha Higgs' Billie Holliday in the second act which is a standout moment.
Could be better but certainly enjoyable. 😁

Mystery solved, normal matinee performance (Rachel's debut) and then a press-only performance with Nicole in the evening which isn't on sale to the general public. Seems odd but there you go!

Some press are also being invited on the 12th of October. Is that for Rachel’s debut? There’s only ever been a matinee on sale for that day, which is Rachel’s first show. Well spotted, interestingly my press listing has the evening on the 12th, I've let my editor know.

There was good stuff in it but the book and score needed a lot of work. It'll be interesting to see what changes they've made.
