The Ocean at the End of the Lane was the last to tour, I think.

This finished yesterday at the Dorfman. One of my favourite theatre experiences of all time. It has to be transferring, surely?

It did generate interest. I went to the Old Vic site just after their performance to check the casting and there was a queue of 2 600 at that point.

I wasn't madly impressed by the Comic Relief performance. You're not alone, based on social media I see what you mean! Yikes. I'm sure Opening Night is grateful for the deflection.

Davina has just said on Comic Relief that this will be going to the West End. Would this fit in the Harold Pinter?

Yes it reminds me of Hair too, and doesn't look at all like Caissie Levy's character, Diana. They should have just reused the Donmar artwork which was far classier.

I'm up in Edinburgh, and whilst the cost of getting to and from London isn't too bad, the cost of hotels has absolutely rocketed: pre-pandemic, you used to easily be able to get a Premier Inn room for c£45-60/night - now it's somewhere between £60 - £100, and you'll be lucky to pay less than an average of £75/night. And you no longer even get housekeeping at PIs, unless you ask specifically. An extra £30 per night for two - four nights is one less show - or two, depending on how well I can do on discounts. This leaves me looking at the budget end of the IBIS offerings, where the rooms are very basic, and the towels in the bathrooms small and scratchy. And I won't do Travelodge after they over-booked the one I'd reserved for my brother's wedding, were rude on the phone to me about it, and completely ruined the whole weekend. Also they apparently believe it's 2006 with their 30 minutes of free wi-fi per day... So that's just fewer visits to London, and a subscription to NT at Home to try to allow me to see some of the more popular stuff. Agree entirely about Premier Inn. I used to stay in the Hubs and you could get a night for a decent price. Now when I look, it's around £170 for a random Wednesday night, so I no longer use them. I just look through booking.com now to see if I can get a deal. I also have to factor in airport car parking, flights to London and train/coach to/from the airport so it all adds up when the ticket prices themselves are now boogaloo. And I can't do rush tickets because I have to plan my London trips like a military operation to arrange cover for childcare, work etc.

I'm fuming. Yet again we're going to miss an event because of stuck trains. This is getting ridiculous now. It's every week this is happening. An hour's contingency is nowhere near enough anymore. Is there some way to contact the Savoy Box Office to resell our tickets for tonight's sold-out performance? I'm really sorry to hear this happened to you, too.

Two quick queries: 1. When did the Bridge become eligible for the Oliviers? 2. Stranger Things is neither a comedy play nor an 'entertainment', is it?! 1. I believe the Bridge became eligible sometime this year or maybe late last year. They probably wised up and paid for the Society of London Theatre membership knowing they'd get a lot of noms for Guys and Dolls. 2. I REALLY have no clue. I thought it would be considered a "play". A friend asked me today why Harry Potter was classed as a play whereas this isn't. I presume because the show is such a spectacle they've reduced it to "entertainment" like Totoro last year. It's interesting. If you look at the Official London Theatre Show Guide, Stranger Things is firmly included in the 'Drama' category, and not the 'Comedy / Entertainment' one.

I booked, when it went on sale, for June. I almost can't wait to see it now if it's still on!

It sounds like it has vibes of Van Hove's Obsession with Jude Law. That was nuts too.

I can't get the performance of 'Magic' from Front Row on Radio 4 out of my head. Like that song a lot.
