Opening at the Pinter, Spring 2024. Same team behind The Ferryman…. Cannot Wait! Interesting that they're opening straight in the West End rather than debut it somewhere in the subsidised sector but I guess they don't need to. Is there going to something between Lyoness closing and this opening in the Spring at the Pinter?

It doesn’t seem like a very long run at the moment

Has Jerusalem ever toured, I cannot recall it doing so. Would it being a lengthy play be a reason why it hasn't as it may not appeal to the more casual regional theatre goer?
I guess the new play will likely have a good cast attached to it if it is opening directly in the West End?
But if it is anything as good as his previous work it should be a "must see" especially as it will be 7 years since The Ferryman when this opens so his plays are notable events.

There was a production of Jerusalem at the Watermill Theatre with Jasper Britton which I wasn't able to see. I am not aware of any tours but would suspect the set/staging might be prohibitively expensive if they were to try and replicate the West End version. Although the other Butterworth plays I've seen do not come remotely close to Jerusalem in its epic awesomeness they were still very good and this will be a highlight for sure.

I think Jerusalem would tour just fine. It is a mid sized cast so would be expensive in that regard.
But the set is a caravan and lots of chaos in terms of set dressing . Sure you can recreate the countryside setting with fake trees and bushes. But I think audiences would not feel short-changed with a reduced amount of shrubbery.
You don't need a huge stage crew as there isn't a set change.
The run time might be the thing that some venues would find challenging as audience attention spans seem to have decreased. But it didn't feel long when I saw it.

Video, sound, a caravan. And a good lead. Brilliant play to tour

Get a working caravan, you've also got a way to get the cast from date to date - 2 birds...

Hoping we might get an announcement this week or next 🤞
Think only the Harold Pinter and Gielgud are due announcements soon. (And Soho Place if TLBT doesn't extend).

Is anyone having issues signing up to the pre-sale? Once I click to submit my details, nothing happens?

Even more excitement now that we know Sir Sam will be making a return to stage directing. I'd assume we will get the casting fairly soon and with Sam now attached he'd have star power to pull in names to be in the show.
With it opening late January would the rehersals start before or after Xmas do people think?

Sam Mendes directed The Motive and The Cue this year and he's done a fair bit of theatre directing in the last 5 to 10 years. At this point, his name isn't a big selling point.

Can’t wait! Do we know when exactly the pre-sale is? Signed up but judging by the recent experience the links are so unreliable.. better know the exact time and date in advance.
