Many West End theatres have yet to announce their shows from the end of April onwards. Should see some announcements imminently, particularly in relation to plays.

Anybody know if the main 3 are generally appearing in recent shows. Thinking of getting a ticket to today’s matinee but only if they are on really. And yes I know that it’s hard to predict and that we don’t just go to see the leads I think Reece and Amanda had a recent run of covid and chest infections etc but were all back on last Saturday.

After last night's reception, Standing at the Sky's Edge will clearly be crossing the river and heading to the glittering West End. I'm being serious...for once. 🤞🤞🤞 I hope it does either extend or transfer as the Olivier run is so short. I can see this doing really well.

Think it was more a rumours and tittle tattle thread Jon Absolutely! Not worrying about it in the least, just want a few fun rumours for us all to play around with!

A few years ago I used to love coming to the Young Vic but nothing remotely appeals in the new season. I agree. Nothing of interest to me.

@sohoplace, Haymarket and Phoenix free from end of April Apollo, Gielgud and Garrick free from end of May Ambassadors free from end of June Gap at Criterion currently mid April to end of August if Unfriend does not extend. Obviously I’m sure most of these have shows pencilled in, and there’s plenty of rumours, but that’s 8 West End houses without shows currently on sale for the peak summer period. 8 theatres and not a hint of a rumour with the end of April only round the corner! Does anyone have any breadcrumbs they could drop us? Even The Times the other week was saying this was the place for insider info, let's live up to it!

Why in the world would it return to the National Theatre? Given the success on Broadway and on tour, surely it would deserve a proper run in the West End, especially when there's such a lack of good new shows? I love Hadestown to pieces, but I don't think a bonafide Broadway success should go into the National Theatre which receives funding to help new shows along (as it did with the first run). The trend seems to be that because it was originally produced here at the National, a West End transfer is likely to be announced by the National theatre when a new batch of productions is announced for the Southbank theatres. Where has all the talk of a transfer announcement come from today?

Definitely would have expected more announcements by now. I hope we don't go back to the dark summer periods we had in the late noughties.

They have to be releasing more tickets for this don't they? When I got mine in presale there was a small handful left on the majority of the dates. Some must have been held back? They *will* be releasing more and if you missed out, you can sign up on the website for notification of when the extra tickets go on sale.

Hmm, the entire run of the RSC's spring/summer production of Hamnet is showing as completely sold out, which seems unusual for a new play with no cast announced, several months before it opens. Trying to debate whether to book the rest of my spring trip and hope tickets become available later on, what do people think? Is it really fully sold out, or some other reason it's showing as sold out? I wonder if a transfer is in the works after the RSC run, there's commercial producers involved. I'd be amazed if there wasn't.

It's a pity the Donmar just can't seem to get a really good, commercial hit.
Transfers aren't the be all and end all but they do generate a buzz as we saw with the Streetcar announcement earlier in the week. Can't remember the last time a show from the Donmar went on to a further life.

I thought mrbarnaby mentioned Stranger Things and the Gielgud. Maybe I'm wrong. Can anyone say what is going to the Gielgud then - maybe The Piano Lesson?

Perfect timing for a transfer of Standing at the Sky's Edge. 😂 You are determined to get this somewhere, TallPaul!! 🤣 This ties in with the Stranger Things rumour, presume it'll go to the Gielgud.

This *is* going to transfer at some point, right? Sooner than we might think, if what I've heard is accurate. I think you might be right

According to Mr B in another thread, one is coming.
Could it be in May after 'For Black Boys...' and what is likely?
My guess is The Piano Lesson.
On another note, I do miss Baz on a Thursday night, this is the sort of thing we used to get from him.

I really hope this transfers. If Noises Off can keep coming in, then so can this. I was a little underwhelmed by the last West End production.

It has certainly sold plenty of seats since James Norton's appearance on The Graham Norton Show.
There was any number of seats when I booked this just the other week.
Anyway, it's good to see!
