I'm going a little off topic here but to me, the revivals only make sense when they improve on the previous production or bring something very fresh to it. Can't fully agree with this. There's a new generation of theatregoers growing up all the time. Revivals can be too often but there's no reason why something can't be revived every (say) 20 years for that audience. I enjoyed seeing Oh What a Lovely War revived at Theatre Royal Stratford which was close to the original. I wasn't born when the original was staged.

I think Lyonesse is selling due to the pairing of Kristin Scott Thomas and Lily James plus Ian Rickson directing. I know Nicole has the marmite-factor so won’t get into her effect on Sunset sales, but I guess I’m just surprised that people aren’t as excited at the chance to see Luke Evans and Penelope Wilton making rare West End appearances as they are KST and Lily James in Lyonesse. I have contemplated booking tickets to see Backstairs Billy on a few occasions, but haven't done so yet. Any time I've looked most of the good seats are off sale. I say off sale because I looked at several dates on Day 1 of booking and they weren't on sale then and still aren't, huge swathes of seats.. Most decent seats which are on sale cost £125 so in my view they have pitched the pricing way too high.
