I've only been once but yes, the front Stalls are flat. I was in H1 for A Christmas Carol and it was completely fine but I am tall 😁

I actually liked the set, it looked impressive all opened up and they did well creating different locations through wheeling different furniture and props in and out. Definitely far from ugly.

Cancelled today, they emailed 5 minutes after I paid £50 for a train. Luckily the cancellation came through 1 minute before I boarded the train and I got a refund. Such a shame as next weekend is all sold out now, but hopefully it'll transfer 🤞

We got started in the end, and the interval seems to have still come at roughly the scheduled time, so somehow they've magically made some time back!
It's very good so far, no standout tunes but it all suits the show and all of the leads are very good. Very dynamic set as well with a revolve. And the £22 seats are fine, worth saving the £18 on full price.

They haven't opened the auditorium doors yet with 5 minutes to go... not a great sign...

Sorry to hear of your illnesses and train issues! It really does suck when life gets in the way of theatre. Hope you end up having excellent days in some other way and I'll report back later on the show 😁

I'd heard about Two Cigarettes as I was meant to be reviewing that in March. Also Burn The Floor (Kevin Clifton) was cancelled at the Derngate for this week, as is a Queen Extravaganza tribute tour later in the month, so it definitely feels like regional stuff is struggling.

I use the spray (which costs like £2) and it works like magic. Not a hint of fog. Would you mind posting a link to the spray you recommend please, a lot of the reviews on Amazon seem quite contrary as to whether the products actually work or not, so I'll happily take a better recommendation! 😀

Illness within the cast could easily wipe this one out, and Jeremy travelling internationally is risky.... but I have everything crossed that it happens.

Jordan has confirmed his final show is March 26th.
He's also on holiday from 6th to 8th January and from 14th to 16th February.

Such a class act, and still funny into her 90s. I'll be rewatching Golden Girls in January and raising a cuppa to her. Imagine all four of them up there now, sitting around eating cheesecake 😀

55 visits for me, not too shabby as I only resumed activities in June. Also over half of them were free (either volunteering or reviewing), so pretty pleased with that.
My favourite 5 (no particular order):
The Hunchback Of Notre Dame @ Manchester Cathedral A Chorus Line @ Curve The Life Of Pi @ Wyndhams The Ocean At The End Of The Lane @ Duke Of Yorks Bedknobs & Broomsticks (tour)
I decided to exclude Anything Goes, I think it was a little overhyped and it'll undoubtedly win anyway so I thought I'd give some love to other shows 😁

Thank you. There's nothing mentioned on the email confirmation or ticket email which I do think is pretty bad, I would've spotted it on there, but on the booking page it's lumped in with the Gift Aid stuff so you just scroll past it and don't really acknowledge what you're agreeing to. Also as they're the only theatre (currently) not accepting the Covid pass, it all just came as a surprise as it's not been a requirement anywhere else. I got the email the day before - with this right at the top
We can't wait to see you tomorrow for the performance of A Christmas Carol at 1pm. The running time is approximately two hours and five minutes, including a 15-minute interval.
Once you arrive at the theatre, everyone in your booking over the age of 12 must show either proof of a negative lateral flow test taken on the day of your visit or evidence of natural immunity via a positive PCR test (or international equivalent) from within the past 11–90 days of a positive result.
So if you didn't get that not surprised you were unaware!
Nope, that would've been very helpful! I only got 2 emails, 'thanks for your order' (no requirements mentioned) and 'here's your ticket' (again nothing mentioned). Presumably their system isn't set yet to email people with the new requirements if they book on the day.

Well it did go ahead tonight but I didn't get to see it, I wasn't aware you had to present a negative lateral flow result which I didn't have as I only booked 2 hours before curtain after I left my first show. They do state it's required prior to entry on the booking page but it's a very long page when viewed on a mobile so I scrolled over it. Annoying but such is life I suppose. They changed it the weekend before Xmas - when I went on the Friday it wasn't needed - on the following Tuesday it was. They did email me to say it was needed though there were others like you who hadn't spotted the requirement then as well. Thank you. Assume so, I'd heard March previously so they would tie in. I can't imagine any actors being better in these roles so it'll be interesting to see who they get.

I'm seeing the matinee of this today, hoping to have a Carol-Off against the Old Vic's production tonight if that goes ahead 😁

Both performances cancelled today. At least there's plenty of notice today. They're hoping to resume tomorrow.
