Looks good. I saw this review show at the RFH few years ago and it's excellent. Just not sure I fancy the trek to the Ally Pally.

It's a good piece. Definitely worth the bus ticket or uber fare.

So I work for Haringey Council and I notices on our Intranet pages that we a 50% discount to see The Glass Menagerie.
I just emailed the box office and it seems the same applies for the Sondheim on Sondheim concert on Band A and Band B tickets. Yay!

It's not a venue I really like either, but I may go there for this. Last time I went I fell over someone. I might have pulled up all the flooring with me because that floor is so sticky.

Looks good. I saw this review show at the RFH few years ago and it's excellent. Just not sure I fancy the trek to the Ally Pally. I did not think it was a good production. A few songs were cut and the sound wasn't great. Having listened to the original cast recording, the RFH production was mediocre.

I liked the structure - it was more of an investigation into the material than a concert.

I do like the original. Just didn't like that UK production.

Apparently, that auction was absolute gay chaos. Someone bid $20,000 on the set of thesaurus's. The auctioneer was bidding for themselves on lots. Every bid slowly increasing in value into the thousands sending shock after shock into that audience. It's the kind of craziness I think dear Mr. Sondheim would've written about. www.doyle.com/auction/24ss01-the-collection-of-stephen-sondheim/?au=8984&g=1

I love that the brand of pencils which he bought in bulk when they stopped producing them decades ago are now worth a fortune! I can see why a well thumbed thesaurus or rhyming dictionary would appeal in the hope that a little magic or inspiration can be captured.

I did bid for a couple of the cheaper lots. Just above asking price, so obviously I didn't get them. 😭

I was only corresponding with the author of this book yesterday afternoon on Twitter. He started following me, and me him.

I got Sondheim biographies, picture books, the lyrics, books on musical analysis, scores, etc. Don't think I need this one. But hey if you think it adds something new, let me know! 😉

Oh my goodness! I had no idea this was going to be released. I confess I've had a bootleg copy of this for the last few years but I can't believe there's an official one now. Sondheim performing Good Thing Going is just so, so lovely. And any Joshua Henry recording is always welcome.
Between this, Sunset, and Florence + the Machine BBC Proms arriving in my Apple Music this morning I'm spoiled for choice today!
