The woman is becoming as delusional as Norma D herself. How awfully fitting. Does she think she can convincingly play a woman in her 50's or will be a script rewrite be necessary to facilate her casting?

If they believed they could convincingly age Ben Platt down for Dear Evan Hansen, I think they’ll attempt it with Glenn Close! Of course no one will ever top Stockard Channing in Grease when it comes to unconvincing age casting… |

I don’t see Glenn’s age as being a problem for this role, not sure why everyone’s fixated on it. It’s not the same as Ben Platt trying to pass for a high school kid.

I didn’t really make it clear in my previous post, but my point was that age hasn’t prevented casting in roles where it WAS an issue, so shouldn’t be here. If it needs addressing, there’s no real reason Norma can’t be older, and Close looks brilliant anyway. Plus - arguably - people generally aged differently and looked older at a younger age in the forties compared to modern standards. |

Although if it happened I think she’d be bloody great though.
But it wont. Not with Nicky S putting a different spin on it on Broadway.

Sadly, if it wasn't green lit after her Oscar win then it won't happen now, ith her anyway.
Maybe the could digitally enhance a pro shot from the 90s and release that either her in it.
If a movie does some along now someone like Catherine Zeta Jones would be ideal.

A Pro shot would be unprofitable IMO I think with the Jamie Lloyd production, Paramount has a new angle to do Sunset Boulevard. The original film is so beloved that it's probably why they have been reluctant to greenlight it. |

Glenn Close, wonderful and talented though she is, is approaching 80! It just wouldn't work with her at this point, especially as the recent revival has reinvented Norma for modern audiences so successfully.
