I wonder where they will schedule it. Strictly Results is pretty much nailed on at 7:15pm and 9pm is way too late so 8pm opposite X-Factor or before Strictly though Countryfile is very successful in that slot. I would expect the move to Sunday is to ensure an earlier start so pre-Strictly seems likely so 6:30pm which is a solid slot. Unless the BBC have decided X-Factor is now weak enough that they can schedule Strictly up against it and Doctor Who gets a 7:30pm slot. 6.30pm would be my guess, Countryfile can easily be pushed back to 5.30pm I think one of the specials aired on a Sunday and did very well so I’m all for the show moving to Sundays

Just noticed the updated posts on the board and was hoping it was about when new series was starting. I'm not a fan of it being on a Sunday night and think it sits best in traditional Saturday night slot once Strictly has got rid of the first few couples and can run from about 7:30pm to 9:00pm then Casualty, news and MOTD.
This all stems from the recorded Strictly results show which seems set a 7:15pm on a Sunday. But I'd be tempted to put Countryfile from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, then Dr Who and then Strictly results. I think 6.30pm is too early for Dr Who. A 9pm finish could be late for younger viewers so do 7.30 to 8.15pm or just cut Strictly results down to 30 mins - group dance, quick recap, announce bottom two, chat to judges, musical guest and dance offs could be done in 30 mins I reckon.

As Strictly gets shorter it tends to finish earlier in the evening so more 8:20pm/8:30pm than 9pm. They have to film the results show after the main show so regular 9pm finishes won't work for them.
The BBC are unlikely to shorten the Results show when it is usually the highest rating programme each week.

New teaser. Because I'm really thick it had to be pointed out to me that the nature of the ceiling and what happens to it is the whole point of this one

I am not sure whoever came up with the idea understands what a ceiling like that actually represents.

Being an idiot I totally misunderstood that trailer and thought it was a glitter ball on the ceiling and so the smashing represented the "stealing of Strictly's time-slot". IT'S A GLASS CEILING YOU MORON. That was nice, I liked it. Also in favour of the show being on from 7-7.50 each Sunday.

An *actual* first look!!!!! I know it's only 40 seconds but I love it!! And the new posters are beaut!!! Not totally sold on the new sonic screwdriver but we'll get there... I haven’t watched Dr Who since I was a kid, but i’m quite interested now. That sonic screwdriver looks like something you can buy in Ann Summers - not that I, cough, frequent such places.

As a former employee of Ann Summers whose assigned beat within the shop was 'The Vibe Circle' I can confirm that no sonic screwdriver is more (or, more accurately, less) phallic than the next. They ALL look like battery-powered novelties and you're grandstanding if you reckon you can tell otherwise.

World premiere in Sheffield on 24 September. Tickets for the 'red carpet experience' allocated by ballot via the BBC website.

If both of you don't start behaving, I'll have to set BurlyBeaR on you. At least it's on the right side of the Pennines, with a reasonable chance it won't rain!

Well, as I confidently predicted, the weather in Sheffield today is not only dry, but sunny. And the carpet is not only red, but very red (though I'm not sure the good folk of Axminster would actually describe it as a carpet).
Some of the ballot winners waiting in the incredibly long queue are clearly more *hardcore* than others. What they don't know is that rather than waiting patiently, they could, at this very moment, be watching Jodie Whittaker being interviewed, outside, by that nice Dan Walker.

Discovered at the weekend that my late Step-Grandmother was Doctor Who's teacher at primary school. However because I'm so old this was John Hurt, not Jodie Whittaker.
