So by their insistence on getting rid of gendered acting categories, only 5 people have a chance of getting an award instead of 10? Seems like great progress to me...
(Tom Francis not getting a nomination is ridiculous)

Stranger Things seems over represented considering it hasn't actually officially opened yet... Thats not right as it means it was nominated before it even started. But then WOS awards never seem to go by the rules.

Loving the nominations for Miss Saigon in Sheffield, - although a shame not to see Shane O’Riordan or Shanay Holmes nominated (although Aynrand Ferrer is very deserving!).

WOS said that because Crazy For You was nominated last year when it was at Chichester, therefore ineligible this season for the West End transfer. Thats outrageous. I was all ready to give Charlie my vote. he was nominated for the role last year, if that helps!

Evita at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane got a nomination - lol. What a farce. I wonder how bad the alternatives must’ve been!

Stranger Things seems over represented considering it hasn't actually officially opened yet... I think all but one of their nominations were chosen by their panel rather than the public nomination process. I wouldn’t be surprised if it had received those nominations in the hopes of boosting traffic, by getting non-theatre fans to vote for their favourite TV show.

Among all the oddities I'm particularly surprised by the lack of love for Paul Mescal

Calling Operation Mincemeat ‘tripe’ is quite the subjective opinion… I’m not even a major fan, but it’s one of the most popular and well reviewed shows on the West End so I’m actually surprised it’s not nominated for more

Other Americans I knew who saw it felt likewise so maybe it’s a British thing.

No Carrie Hope Fletcher noms? The doyenne of WoS? She hasn't been in anything eligible, that's why she kicked off last month when her solo tour wasn't eligible to be nominated. She is claiming the Once concert and the Darren Criss concert as noms for her though so if they win she will claim a win by default.

Surprised she didn't somehow get her way onto the shortlist for the crown jewels...

Nothing for Tom Francis? That was also a bit surprising.

Nothing for Tom Francis? That was also a bit surprising. I thought he was the best thing about Sunset and I gave him a vote!

Has anybody ever been to this? I see it's on at the Palladium this year and tickets are very pricey.

Has anybody ever been to this? I see it's on at the Palladium this year and tickets are very pricey. I've been several times over the years when it was at the Prince of Wales theatre but luckily invited each time. It used to be a bit amateurish but in recent years has got a lot better and organised. Usually some good acts performing. But I wouldn't spend a fortune on a ticket as The Oliviers it ain't.
