Laughing at the CHF superfans (and even her mum) complaining on social media that her tour stop at the Palladium isn't eligible for best concert.
Carrie herself has even posted about it in a very passive aggressive way 🤣
The fact that they are all saying they're going to nominate her anyway shows both their entitlement and how ridiculous these awards and her wins have been. Its just one big pile on.

Seems very few categories. What about sound, lighting, costume etc? Or are those decided my a judging panel?

Seems very few categories. What about sound, lighting, costume etc? Or are those decided my a judging panel? No, they don’t offer those categories up. As these are audience voted awards I suppose they are less likely to get people nominating for what people truly think of as great Lighting or Sound and more just the general production that they enjoyed the most which negates the point of having those specific categories. Not everybody, obviously, but how many of the general public that vote for these awards would remember ‘oh, that was brilliant sound design…’’

I can maybe understand lighting, but I think set and costumes people have a good idea on

The entitled arrogance to think Carrie should be nominated for an award she's not eligible for is really unpleasant. Thankfully my daughter has enough sense not to be used as a flying monkey to go and badger WhatsOnStage or be told how to vote. Awards should be won on their genuine merit. What a Carrie-on (sorry, I couldn't resist).

It's very cheeky of her and her family to complain, for just her random tour date to qualify.

It was very cringe and embaressing for all involved. Surprised to find myself saying it but I respect WOS more now, good for them standing their ground and not backing down to the entitled (and wrong!) bully pile on.

I can't really speak to the rest of your comment as I've never been a fan of Carrie's - her voice can sound lovely but she lacks depth, true emotion and acting ability. She's not one of the greats that I want to hear again and again or would favour being cast over someone else. I just know I didn't like how my daughter constantly re-read messages to me she intended to post to Carrie in case she took it the wrong way and it angered her. That doesn't sit well with me. I think social media, in whatever form, is how the person wants to be perceived not how they really are and eventually the mask will slip. This behaviour and entitled arrogance doesn't crop up overnight, so your comment does seem plausible. My daughter has been put off Carrie by this. The arrogance is quite awful and the ego doesn't seem to match reality - Carrie's show in question was discounted/tickets given for free to a lot of the venues. We were offered such tickets but I couldn't afford the train fare. However, the good news from this is that my daughter has today discovered Nathania Ong - my goodness what a talent! I cried, she was so convincing and what a voice! Please watch her if you haven't already, although we're probably super late in finding her!

More and more of her fans are being turned off her because of her treatment of them. If your fans are scared of you then you're doing something wrong Completely agree also on Nathania Ong in les mis and she is incredible. One of the all time eponine greats in my view.

Not sure what was so difficult for Carrie Hope Fletcher, her husband Joel Montague and even her mother Debbie to understand. Whatsonstage rules were clear. I can understand being disappointed, but ranting on social media about how ‘unfair’ the rules are, instructing Whatsonstage to ‘sort it out’ and whipping up subscribers to contact WOS to pressure them to add An Open Book to the nominations is just entitled, cringeworthy and ridiculous. Good on Whatsonstage for standing their ground. Have Joel and Carrie not got agents telling them to back off? It’s not a great look.

Now Carrie is campaigning her fans to get Once concert a WOS award.
She's so desperate to get an award one way or another. It's really not a good look.

Surely awards are only meaningful if they are truly voted for by the audience.
Who would want to win when it's just from influencer followers, it doesn't mean the same.

The WoS Awards have never really had any meaning. For as long as I can remember they have always been dominated by large fan groups. It is a fun night out and I enjoyed working those evenings. But they don't have any real weight in terms of artistic credibility.

It’s interesting that the “darling” of the WoS awards for so many years has now turned to bite the hand that fed her.

Glad to see such recognition for Lord of the Rings and Next to Normal in the nominations.

Have I missed it or has Crazy For You not got any nominations?

WOS said that because Crazy For You was nominated last year when it was at Chichester, therefore ineligible this season for the West End transfer.

Stranger Things seems over represented considering it hasn't actually officially opened yet...
