Couldn't find a thread for this, just ones for Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About A Bank Robbery.
Not only is this still running in the West End, but it's announced for 10 - 15 July 2017 at the Mayflower in Southampton. Anyone know if this is a tour and if there's any more dates? Would love to see this! Gutted I missed Peter Pan Goes Wrong in Birmingham last year, but this looks just as good!

First I've heard of it - I went to do some digging but couldn't find much yet. Presumably more will appear in the coming weeks, but it is very early for a touring production to be on sale! In related news, seems the current cast have only got 10 weeks left on their contracts. www.mayflower.org.uk/Whats_On/ThePlayThatGoesWrong2017

Aha, thanks for that. Good to hear they are planning on doing a musical.. Although I suspect that will be a couple of years away, presuming Play heads over to Broadway in the spring next year.

I saw this today and really enjoyed it. It takes a lot for me to laugh out loud when watching something but this managed it. I liked the bits going on before the play started as well and thought that was a nice touch.
The only thing i'd say was there were a few moments that SO much was going on that it actually lost it's funny in those moments in my opinion. Especially towards the end of the show. There were times where there was so much shouting and fast dialogue and sets falling part and fighting all all happening at the same time that i didn't know what was really going on and so that wasn't actually that funny, it was too much.
But overall hilarious, clever, great performances and i really loved it.

Apologies for the double post but there is a 3 week gap between them. Has anyone else seen the new cast yet? I went to see them this afternoon & thought that they made a pretty good job of it for their 4th show. Everything went wrong that should have & as far as I could see nothing that shouldn't have! There are a few minor line changes/additions, mostly in Act 2.
I was particularly impressed with the new Chris, Hayden Wood. I have seen comments likening Henry Shields' Chris to Basil Fawlty when he was in the show, well Hayden Wood is even more Fawlty-esque.
The person I was perhaps least convinced by was Daniel Millar as Max. It wasn't that there was anything wrong with his acting as such, and he has an impressive list of credits, but to me he just looked too old for the role on both levels. 1) Cecil Haversham is supposed to be nearly 4 years younger than Charles but instead he looked older & 2) Max is supposed to be in the first year of his degree - he's not necessarily 18, as the original premise had him having done a degree at RADA, but he surely should look early 20s rather than over 30. He needs to look young and naive to make it plausible that he's nervous of having to kiss Sandra.

The tour next year is definitely on as it is booking for next April at my local theatre (Cambridge Arts Theatre), although I haven't seen any proper tour announcement yet so I don't know where else it will be going.
(I seem to be having a conversation with myself on this thread!)

Was going to post this a few weeks ago but completely forgot. I stage-doored at The Comedy About A Bank Robbery and was chatting to cast member Charlie Russell. She said that she would be leaving the show in Jan and I asked why and she said the whole cast were going to B.Way with The Play That Goes Wrong and had already booked a theatre. I asked which theatre the show would be going to., but she wouldn't tell me which one. She told me it was a nice try though!

Strange the tour is playing small venues, which suits the production - then the last date they're playing the Mayflower; Southhampton. It get lost in there.

We've known for months that was the idea, doesn't surprise me at all it's actually happening.

This is touring from March, which we already knew, but I understand contracts are now signed for a January opening on Broadway.

Saw this for the first time in the West End, 2nd overall (caught it in Guildford pre-West End). BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT!!! Luckily been about 3 years since I've seen it, so was pretty much like watching it brand new. It's just my favourite thing ever. Always a worry in the back of the head about the casting as the original guys are so perfect, but this cast are bloody wonderful. I'm sure the auditions are rather rigorous to make sure they are completely up to the job, but WOW. What the cast only put themselves through.
Also had the pleasure of being sat behind Henry Lewis and took the opportunity to tell him how utterly brilliant the Pinewood recording of Peter Pan Goes Wrong was. Think today was the last day off for the Bank Robbery cast so I guess he was doing a show check to make sure it was all running smoothly. Great to see that after writing it and starring in it and it being a part of his life for so long, there are still parts and interpretations that made even him chuckle. Full audience lapped every second up. Managed to get the Sunday Super Saver tickets for £25 this morning as it was a last minute decision to go. Back row of stalls on the low numbered isle. Miss a little action on the raised platform but really nothing major. And better than the high-numbered end I gather, anyhow.
Amazing afternoon and I've no doubt I will return to this, but in a while. For me I know I'll enjoy it once I've forgotten most of it again! But I know I also want to re-visit Bank Robbery and also see Peter Pan this Christmas season. Mischief Theatre are truly taking over the West End and I couldn't be happier about it - long may it all continue!

Howdy, I've got a friend who wants to see this on Saturday this week - does anyone know of any deals or is she pretty much destined to pay full price?

Howdy, I've got a friend who wants to see this on Saturday this week - does anyone know of any deals or is she pretty much destined to pay full price? When I saw it a couple of Saturdays ago it was sold out (the woman next to me said her husband was on the other side of the theatre as they couldn't get seats together!) and we couldn't find any discounts. Utterly hilarious escapism, haven't laughed so much in ages! Yes, it's silly and ridiculous, but sometimes that's exactly what you need!

Howdy, I've got a friend who wants to see this on Saturday this week - does anyone know of any deals or is she pretty much destined to pay full price? It pops up on Tkts occasionally so worth checking their website to see if it will be available on the day (especially as they know give advanced notice of what will be on sale a few days in advance). I got a £55 seat for £25 from there a few weekends ago - brilliant seat right on the corner of the first row where the central aisle ends (think it was Row L?). Amusingly, the American people next to me at Tkts (who appeared to be buying tickets for everything on sale) when I was buying asked their cashier about the show when they heard me buy a ticket and he went "Everybody raves about it but I didn't enjoy it, I wouldn't recommend it".

As confirmed in the new newsletter - this is definitely heading over to Broadway (photoshoot has already happened).
Original cast are also returning to the Duchess for a week in February, to celebrate the 1000th performance of the show.

I heard a while ago that was a possibility so I'm glad it's happening. I've been saving up to go & see them on Broadway but I'm thinking now I may just see them a few times at the Duchess that week & save myself a lot of money & stress!
