I didn't know that once (in 1956) he played both Dromios in a production of "The Comedy of Errors". Interesting - I somehow though doubling the parts in that play was a more recent innovation.

I used to listen to this every night to go to sleep when I was a child:
He’s been a huge part of so many things. What a great legacy. Thoughts with his family and friends.

From the obituaries I read that once appearing in Macbeth he was on stage when Harold Norman playing the lead was fatally stabbed in front of him during the final fight scene.
