Good to see the original cast has returned and can reprise the roles before they get too old. Nice to see Hannah Waddingham getting a good role in it too.

I can't see how to do a spoiler tag on my phone but the song has already been leaked during filming earlier this year. Should be easily to Google if you want to know, or leave as a surprise I agree this trailer really looks good, after lady and the tramp, Chip N Dale and the also great Pinnochio trailer, I think the disney remakes (of their classics) that go direct to D+ are actually better than the cinema releases

She is a twice Olivier Award nominated actress and an Emmy winner Yes I know that. I meant who’s she in the trailer?

Can't believe how good it looks. Very excited, the first one was such a big part of my growing up. 30 years in the making and now 3 weeks to to go!
And...Hannah Waddingham 😍

I love Hocus Pocus, but from what I have seen from the trailer I am concerned about the sequel. In the original it states that the book is given to Winnie by Satan himself. Now in the sequel it appears to be given to her by another witch. I also find the acting choices/direction very weak however, I have only seen a two minute trailer so I will still try and watch it with an open mind as I love the original.

I hope they stay evil and not "turned good" or "misunderstood in their youth" or something. They're supposed to be hilarious, over-the-top comic villains.

I think the key to this will be going in without any expectations. Just take what's been done and go with it.

I loved seeing Midler, Parker and Najimy again. That's about it. Awful story, kid characters were dull as dishwater.

Haha, I’m seeing the first film at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood next week (not sure how many people will be able to say they’ve seen this, New Order and the Pet Shop Boys on the same day 😂): after reading the reviews of the new Pinocchio last week and just being generally ambivalent to the tidal wave of Marvel sludge, I cancelled my subscription to Disney +, sounds like I won’t be missing out anything by giving this a swerve.

Have to say that I really enjoyed it. Some genuinely funny moments that made me laugh out loud. I actually thought it was a much funnier film than the first though the first is still the better movie. The Sanderson sisters were great and it had felt like nothing had changed in the 30 years since they last played those roles. And I thought the rest of the supporting cast did a solid job.

Unfortunately I completely disagree about the comedy. It was so cringeworthy. The kind of cheap self-aware comedy that is commonplace nowadays (especially from the sidekick). It’s why this one won’t become a classic. Also the one they were trying to kill was so annoying I was kind of on their side. Haha.

As a standalone film, it's not great. As a tongue-in-cheek dose of nostalgia, it's great fun. The leads are clearly having a great time, although it's solely Midler's film (Parker and Najimy have very little to actually do). Lots of nods to the first film, a paper-thin story but who cares really. It's silly Halloween fun. And Hannah Waddingham is incredible despite only being in it for 10 minutes.
