What a night! My train back from Leeds was late, obvs, so I seem to have missed all the weaker couples. I wondered where Will was. Have you bought those potted plants, BurlyBeaR, or are they on hire? The gold boots didn't do anything for Claud.

Johannes on the farm was like Alexis Carrington Colby guest starring on Emmerdale! Fabulous. That line has made my day!

Did anyone else notice that Johannes looked more feminine that Ellie when there were on that farm?

Neither Craig nor Motsi gave reasons for their decisions, apparently that rule is optional now!

I do think it was more like putting him out of his misery than voting him off. His top half was crazy whilst his legs were thoroughly pigeon toed & ill disciplined. His whole insincere wounded puppy nonsense was really starting to grate.

Great suggestion on the Guardian's Strictly blog: instead of musicals week this year we have Lansbury week. Dances from The Harvey Girls, Anyone Can Whistle, Mame, Dear World, Prettybelle, Sweeney Todd, The King and I, Beauty and the Beast, Bednobs, Night Music etc "Winner gets to recite Angelas' terrifying speech from The Manchurian Candidate to Tess and activate her Assassin sleeper-agent programming."

Matt did have a physical problem which may have impacted on his movement. He has Poland Syndrome , which affects the body's musculature.

Not everyone wants to trot out their personal challenges in order to garner sympathy and votes.
All credit to him for keeping things private.
Much prefer that to the sob stories

I do wish they'd get better singers!

What an awful bunch of songs to dance to this week. Theme tunes are generally 20 seconds long, so dancing for 2 mins or however long it is means that you get the same 16 bars repeated. Molly wasn’t great but that was down to the Grange Hill theme, it’s not punchy at all. I don’t know whose choice it was but I’d be fuming at whoever it was down to. Hamza was the best for me, and I think Ellie T did enough to save herself this week. Everything I felt about every dance was backed up by the judges, which means my dance knowledge is improving 😅 but also I think they got 90% of their comments spot on tonight, I think some scores were wrong though. Waterloo and Ballroom Blitz, I think it was unfair that these songs were allowed, they don’t represent the BBC at all. I think Jayde could be in trouble this week.

Some very unusual choices tonight.
Trying to Charleston to a hornpipe was too much of a clash for me.
Also if you are celebrating Come Dancing, choose music that evoked the original not that track.
The voting was all over the place again. So inconsistent.
Impossible to guess how it will all play out with that number of tied scores.

Over scoring again especially by Motsi. Craig is the only one who gives accurate scores.

That was the worst theme week in living memory. Whoever thought dancing to instrumental TV theme tunes would be good idea needs sacking. I know it was to celebrate the BBC but the whole thing felt cheap and lazy.

Very cheap looking

Although I really like Vito, I actually thought he out-danced Fleur with all of those high kicks

It should be Tony or Jayde who goes in my view. You just never know though at this stage.

Come Dancing by the Kinks would have made much more sense for Kym and Graz rather than Ballroom Blitz. Ellie and Nikita, Ellie T and Johannes, and Hamza and Jowita were the only dances that I enjoyed tonight. The rest were all either misconceived or poorly executed. James and Amy could be in trouble or even Molly and Carlos as their routine was dire.

Lovely to see that nice Dan Walker in the audience, with his youngest daughter.

I thought we were gonna get Molly and Tyler in a dance off, but as soon as Jayde was called I knew she would be going home.
The song choice really let Molly down, but they could have done so much more with the karaoke, it just all seemed a bit lacklustre. This will be a wake up call for them now, they need to be in the top 2 every week.

I was wondering about how much Victoria Wood resonated with the ‘young’ who watch and vote. And frankly I felt the whole tribute idea lacked verve. The only music I felt was worth dancing to was Line of Duty and it showed as they did a very good modern tango to it. Molly’s dance was a mess, she scraped through cos she could move her feet in a ‘technical’ way. I dread the Halloween rubbish they turn out with the inevitable elimination of the worst and most ridiculous costume.

Something like 75% of the Strictly audience is over 45 so I doubt those who don't remember Victoria Wood at her peak are that influential. Probably more likely a pretty poor dance and Jayde having no real fanbase. Will's Line of Duty dance was a Viennese Waltz rather than a Tango.

But it was good!

I see Fleur is dancing to Beyoncé this weekend. I haven’t seen what anyone else is dancing to, but surely Halloween week means you should get an appropriate song? Otherwise it’s unfair.
