Took about an hour to get tix this morning, with the site crashing and then they appear to have raised prices when fixing the issue.

Has anyone seen both the West End production and this one? I’m curious what the differences are in terms of direction and staging.

I haven't seen both but I saw the NY version earlier this year. I bought tickets for Broadway to see it again. Groff, Mendez and a really wiry Radcliffe are a great combo. It was the first time I have seen a production of this show live. Love the music.

For anyone who may be considering seeing this, if you don't have tickets already this is one of the few Broadway shows right now where buying well in advance can work in your favor. The lower tiers of ticket prices are heavily sold on many if not most performances for the next six weeks or so. That likely will only accelerate given holiday visitors.
January-March, however, has ample availability for $150-$200. I know. I know. Not cheap, but a lot better than $350+ which a healthy percentage of the seats command daily right now. This is a very hot ticket at the moment.

Im really impressed with how this production has grown since london. The dull set still limps on but at least it now looks like they have spent some money on it. The cast are all stunning. So talanted. I was super impressed with Katie Rose Clark, who plays Beth. She came onto the stage and totally nailed it in what is a difficult scene to make your entrance.
Not the best production of Merrily I've seen but its very good.
Musically its fantastic, we have an extended version of the overture and the band now contains strings. I'm really looking forward to the cast recording.

Which production do you rate higher? This one is the only Merrily I’ve seen so I don’t have a comparison but I did think it was probably the best thing I have ever seen so I’m genuinely curious.

Donmar Warehouse (2000) and Royal Academy (2022) both had so much drive an energy to them.
They both had younger casts, which for me is a game changer.

Listened to the recording, and it sounds so hollow, devoid of any emotion or style. Of course, it's nowhere near the same experience, but still kind of hard to believe the raves going by this alone.

Just downloaded it but as its nearly 2am I'll wait until the morning to listen to it.
I was lucky enough to have seen and heard it nightly when it was at the Menier which also had an amazing cast.
One of my favourite Sondheim shows.

Very interesting they've chosen to film it now in the run compared to earlier. I suppose they'd want to be riding the high of the Tony wins.
I wonder if we'll see a streaming release later in a few years.

Production spokespeople confirmed the filming, saying “The show producers are filming their production of Merrily for posterity. That doesn’t happen very often. We’ll see what happens.”
Sounds like a "view at the NYPL" kind of proshot, with a release maybe down the line.
