It's seems it's just his characters which retired as he has announced one of those evenings with tours next year.
He will be 88 by then.
A very clever and creative chap and certainly a great raconteur if people let him talk about his creative side and the many show business stories he was part of and don't go expecting the ghosts of the past.
Not yet been inclined to go to these types of evening but this is a good chance to hear stories from a very long career.

Ents24.com had it on their email.
Checking it they list the theatre royal Bath on April 17/18 2022 the Easter weekend.
A 7.30 show each night.
Ent24 normally only email me local shows so I presumed he will be doing some more around the country but it maybe a special at Bath only. Not sure where he resides now and if Bath is local to him

I’ll keep an eye open for (hopefully) something nearer to me, as I’ve long admired Barry Humphries’ work , a true comic genius . |

Not sure where he resides now ... Hampstead I think. Saw him on stage in the early 1980s - one of the most sensational things I've ever seen, an absolute genius, none of his TV work came close. There's a description someone wrote of seeing Max Miller on stage in the 1940's from a cheap seat - how the circles seemed to get closer and wrap themselves around him when he came on stage such was the force of his personality - Humphries was like that. |

Looking forward to this, glad he hasn't been tempted to drag the characters back out after the retirement thing at the Palladium Incidentally, his 'projecting' as Sir Les remains one of the funniest and most disgusting I've seen in the theatre - he could easily reach way back into the stalls without missing a beat on the dialogue. I'm leaning toward funny over disgusting, solely because we weren't in the line of fire  |

Luckily we had our umbrellas as it was raining so put those up to cover our legs and body. It was worse than the splash zone at Seaworld. I did get a gladi though. |

I saw him a few weeks back in Bournemouth. A fantastic evening, wonderful anecdotes but the best thing qas being treated to a few minutes of the digusting, deplorable but hilarious Sir Les Patterson.
