Lovely to see William, Kate and George celebrating the goal with hugs and excitement. How lovely was that? George was well into it! 🤣

I'm at the stage where if the police had to wade into these idiots it would be with a heavy heart

Soho this afternoon was an absolute disgrace. Anyone there clearly was there to get drunk, not because they are a fan.
Drunken, yobbish louts screaming at the top of their lungs in the Tube stations and on the trains as well as in the streets, no masks whatsoever and no care for anyone else. And the amount of rubbish was appalling, especially on the trains when I was travelling back after the game started.
Frankly for all of that I hope England lose, just to make those idiots miserable.

Now England have lost, it is going to get a lot worse, as witnessed before when England have gone out. Also coupled with 16 months of frustrations of people lives being put on hold. Idiotism is unfortunately a super spreader.

Gutted for the three that missed. We may witness why we were kneeling before the game

Sad that they lost, hopefully the rain will drive people away from the streets of central.

Gareth is a great manager though and hopefully the players will not face the media onslaught that usually ensues after events like this. They still did well to get to the final and the players carry themselves well.

Btw. asking a young player like Sancho to shoot a penalty in a final after treating him like sh*t in 4 weeks - how shall he be self-confident?

British public and press are resigned that they’ve seen it all before - so no real pressure.
To lose by going 1up then for Italy to miss the first penalty and still lose, is all very much very English.

I thought they played really well. I know they'll be very disappointed tonight (some of them looked so young at the end when they were upset), but I think going in to the World Cup they'll be a strong team.

The vile racism and hate on social media for those three young players. Something needs to be done about anonymous accounts and those openly abusing others online.

Meanwhile, congratulations to Argentina for their win in the Copa América.
(As someone who has no interest in football I cannot begin to explain how this has come to my attention, but there it is all the same.)

In this day and age you aren't telling me that it's not possible to find out who these people are who are putting this abuse out. The internet companies need to be put under more pressure to find out who they are and hand their details on to the Police.

Perhaps Southgate should have asked Christoph Kramer (the german 2014 WC with the head injury in final) He predicted before penalties that Mbapee will ...and now that Rashford and Sancho.. vm.tiktok.com/ZMdVh3kLV/

Priti Patel has been subject to far more on-line racist (and misogynist) abuse than Tyrone Mings. And in fact she is only in this country because her family were expelled by a racist regime in Uganda. Unfortunate that Mings doesn't acknowledge this.

It is her governments policies, they were her words.

If you're going to criticise her for enabling racism it might be wise, if you're not from an Indian-heritage family yourself, to at least acknowledge her own lived experience of racism otherwise you open yourself up to the same accusation.

Be here forever if you have to list the governments mitigating factors every time you attacked them for 'stoking the fires'

Hi, I'm from an "Indian-heritage family"! She's a racist and a hypocrite. That satisfy you?

I do acknowledge it, that doesn't change the fact that she is a hypocrite. And it is not for me to tell Tyrone Mings to acknowledge anyone else's experience when he is talking about his own.
