I saw her for the first time on The Wheel last week. She didn't know what the bird was in "Morning Has Broken". I wouldn’t know either! I thought it was one of those ones everybody knew from school, like All Things Bright and Beautiful. There's another person being announced on Radio 2 this morning. |

Didn't she say 'cuckoo' (one of the choices) couldn't be right 'cos it was a sound, not a bird If she lives near me she would have been correct. Morning chorus lead by the cuckoo whilst the blackbird is prolific at dusk. Guess we just assume everybody knows the hymn |

The hymn book in my primary school was Morning has Broken (orange cover with a yellow circle/sun IIRC)
So it has stuck with me even though I have been a devout atheist for more than 35 years

They don't really pretend it's live anymore, everyone knows it isn't.
Scraping the barrel does seem the appropriate description for the calibre of "celebrity" this year - not sure I would use that word to describe even half of them...
