I love the TV show. I wonder if 20 minutes of silly joy can be spun out into a satisfying evening out?
Regardless just the right kind of tonic the UK needs right now.

Please, please, please let Ellie White and Celeste Dring be in the cast as Beatrice and Eugenie. They steal every scene they appear in on the TV show. And seeing Celeste Dring is kind of an August (Edinburgh Fringe) tradition for me, with her also being 50% of sketch duo Lazy Susan.

Booked! Love the TV show. This will either be genius or a bin fire :-)

Slightly disappointed that only 3 other actors from the TV series are joining Harry Enfield in this (Harry, Edward & Andrew).
I was hoping Hadyn Gwynne would jump on board following the Copenhagen tour. And Hugh Skinner, Morgana Robinson, Ellie White, Katy Wix...

If Haydn Gwynne is not in it, no interest from me. Tracy-Ann Oberman is good though.

I suspect most of the cast had other commitments hence why they've had to recast the majority of the roles.

Seems utterly pointless to do it if it’s not most/all of the main TV cast

It's a pity more of the tv cast are not going to be in it. Always look forward to the tv show.

I saw this last night.
First of all it should be in the musicals section. There are huge company singing chorus type numbers in it (not that that’s a good thing)
I left in the interval. The actors, production, performances were all very good. But the material was dreadful and mostly crude and not funny.
There were funny moments and as expected… it features all the typical Prince Andrew, Megan, Fergie jokes you would expect - but the storyline, script and musical numbers were amateur and ….. cringeworthy.
2 stars from me. Skip this and save your money.

I was there last night, it was hilarious! (Busman's holiday, a theatre trip on my night off)
I know of the TV show but never watched it.
The Theatre was pretty full, masks were worn by all walking around, in seats most took them off. FoH staff were on the ball and seemed well drilled.
The Director gave a speech before the show, basically saying in Theatre you usually get a dress rehearsal before your first public show and they had only just finished the tech an hour or so before!
There were some technical issues during the show, sort of expected even without a dress run.
Tracy-Ann Oberman had a song in the 2nd Act that brought the house down, with technical issues at the end which allowed her to gracefully break the 4th wall for an extra laugh.
With a comedy and an audience the laughs don't always come when you expect, there were a few moments that caused a little corpsing on stage.
Some of the staging was clever, but a few too many "cloth" scenes to allow the main set to be re-dressed for my liking.
I wasn't sure how I felt at the interval, Act 1 seemed not to flow easily, Act 2 was better.
Overall a fun night out and I'd quite like to see it again nearer the end of the run without the technical problems.

Got my ticket booked for mid September, so will be interested to see how it is then. I know it'll probably change quite a bit, but SuperTrooper, what kind of time was it finished last night?

It went up about 7.45/50 and came down about 10. So running just over 2hrs with interval.

Does anyone know what has happened all of a sudden to the circle seats on Thursday matinees, they all just disappeared when I tried to book today, they were all there yesterday. Have they all just suddenly sold out ?

I've got this booked in a couple of weeks. Paid too much as I didn't know there would be rush at the front (want to sit close for this one I think). Hope it is a good show and successful as I love the TV show.

Interval time. This is absolutely dire ! Multiple people walked out during Act 1 !

Surprised they're expecting this to run until October. Sales look pretty terrible.

I saw this and loved it! Hadn't seen the tv show so didn't know what to expect. What a brilliant cast, glorious set design and the audience ate it up. It got me thinking a version of this should run in town for a long time. Would happily go back and recommend.

Despite some terrific performers - Tracy Ann Oberman in particular, this was only occasionally funny and more often than not just plain amateurish. Lots of folks fled at the interval.
