I'm afraid the grumpy middle-aged man in me immediately asks why someone needs to provide additional material for Under Milk Wood and why we need to put on an adaptation of a film rather than an original piece written for the stage.

I can't answer about Under Milk Wood as I don't know the piece, but after this pandemic I don't think it's a bad thing for the National to reopen with an adaptation to bring more people in (that's if After Life is a well known enough film to draw a crowd in....or unless they go in thinking it's the Ricky Gervais series!).

Even getting 9th in the queue, there were precious few seats on sale for todays tier of booking. Some dates sold out from the offset, many offering between 5 and 10 seats, essentially no pit seats across a huge range of dates. Obviously there'll be a new allocation for the public booking but this given they can only do 150 patrons a night I can see this being an absolute nightmare to secure tickets for unless you're lucky with the queue. I just hope it's worth it...

Not much choice for the only date I could do in June. So a £20 High Seat up in the Gods is what I ended up with. I just hope it is not too bad up sat up there.

Any news on rush tickets? Sure I read a message saying it was sold out at one stage but that rush tickets would be available.

Fairly painless Amex presale today - no big queue and while there was only 3 pairs of seats per performance, I managed to secure the seats I wanted.

Just picked up a couple of seats in the general sale. Not where I wanted (side circle) but there wasn't much available across the whole run!

Also managed to pick up a couple of side circle seats. I could have bought in the Amex sale had I known about it, but hadn't received any marketing materials from NT or Amex (despite being opted in) about that sale so wasn't aware until I saw here that it had already happened.

Snuck in with a seat on the only day I could go even though the Queue-IT had said they were sold out... I presume someone forgot to checkout their basket in time.

I'd like to see this as I liked Kore-eda's Shoplifters and I'm interested to see how his work would translate to the stage but I got in too late. I'll try for the Friday Rush but I did notice one performance was to be filmed. Does this suggest an NTLive performance or would it just suggest being filmed for the archive (I feel like normally it only says it's a filmed performance when it's NTLive but maybe I just never noticed otherwise before)?

I got straight through the rush queue but double tickets were only available in the side gallery.
Would have let it go in normal times but I SO MISS theatre!
I hope it's not too distant.

Mark, Had a quick look at my NT order and I got a single ticket in Row S of the Gallery. From what I can remember there wasn't much choice for us solo theatre-goers.

But all rush tickets are higher up, no amazing seats were on offer

Managed to get a rush ticket in the far sit of the “pit”. Doesn’t say restricted view or anything although I suspect it will be quite side on! Happy with it only being £10 though, I was expecting it to be £20.

This was excellent! Loved the concept and it all worked very well. The hour and 40 minutes flew by.
