Come From Away is, aside from Hamilton, the best new show of at least the last decade, if not longer. Hamilton is obviously in a league of its own for good reason, but otherwise I'd say CFA is the best new show we've had since Once, or even Memphis.
The fact that it was beaten to the Tony by Dear Evan Hansen (which I think is complete rubbish) is criminal. Luckily the Oliviers rewarded it.
Understated, heartwarming and not pretentious or preachy in the slightest, as well as being funny and having a diverse cast and diverse stories. It should be mandatory viewing for everyone who remembers 9/11 and plenty who don't.

My friend in Sydney recently posted that she was watching Pippin. I'm so jealous. We also could have open theatres if we had a half decent government

I do find all disability shows have a letter and something bad about the letter. I am as a disabled person getting bored by this. DEH was done by Michael Greif. He is not a bad director. He is very good. Considering he directed two pulitzer winning musicals.

What should I see. Have not seen any of them except Hamilton with LMM PS Shrek is at 100% capacity Depends on where you are in Australia. (With the current trend for snap border closures that needs to be a consideration) In Sydney we have - musical wise - - Frozen playing now at the Capitol
- Hamilton at the Lyric from 17th March
- Fun Home opens 27th April at the Roslyn Packet Theatre
- The Wedding Singer at the State Theatre from 20th June
A Chorus Line plays at the Darlinghurst Theatre from August but not on sale as yet.
There's a Boublil & Schonberg concert with Alfie Boe and Rachel Ann Go at the State Theatre on 28-29th May, but this may be doubtful with the current quarantine restrictions. Hamilton is fairly well sold through to September ( the theatres are only selling 80% capacity because of Covid distancing rules) but they will be running the daily ticket lottery.

Whether or not he is a good director doesn't mean I have to think it's a good show. As someone who has suffered mental health issues for years, frankly I found it offensive. A couple of the songs are decent but that's all.

I think the musical DEH and the play Dog Nighttime were made with best intentions however. I am sorry however you had issues with it

Just under the general heading of the thread, I was surprised to see Simon Stone was the director of that plodding dull-as-ditchwater thing on TV about Sutton Hoo (with Ralph "Rigsby" Fiennes who I'm somewhat resistant to) - he's such a creative innovative theatre director it was a suprise it was so conventional.

Well...there's only a couple of us Aussies on the board, and I'm not really a musicals person. Plus Jason Donovan is much more popular in the UK than in Australia. There's a bit of a theatre glut over the summer in Sydney. Currently playing - Moulin Rouge, R & H Cinderella, Come From Away, & Amadeus Coming soon - Rocky Horror, Tina, Tick Tick Boom, La Cage Aux Folles, Beauty & the Beast, The Picture of Dorian Grey, The Goat, 2 x productions of Macbeth , Consent plus a whole load of one off shows for The Sydney Festival throughout January.

Even still Rocky has a huge following. Doesn’t matter who’s in it.

Did the postponed production of Everybody's Talking about Jamie ever make it to Australia?

I was at the recently refurbished Concert Hall at the Opera House last night to see Michael Sheen as Saliari in Amadeus.
I wasn't keen on every element of the play or this production but it was a glorious central performance with the only flaw that everything else paled in comparison.
