It was lovely to see Delroy on my telly box.
But, I'm in pieces!
Brilliant, all round brilliant!

Well that was the hardest episode so far to watch. Callum Howells was superb in it. That episode was totally heartbreaking, so well acted all round. Callum Howells was indeed superb.

I agree with other posters, episode 3 was brilliant and such a weepy. I really liked the portrayal of Colin’s mother and how she was just accepting of everyone, reminded me a bit of the character Sian from the film Pride (the Welsh connection probably helped!).

I’m a big fan of Welsh mothers, based on my boyfriends Mum (or rather Mam) and how lovely she is

Not gonna lie, as much as I loved her, I was struggling to understand her.
I mean I could understand her, but I had to really listen to her.
But as I referred to in a previous post, I am still getting used to the rhythm of it.

Can I ask as I missed it both times I watched the series. Was Colin's mother always in a wheelchair?
I didn't notice it until she went to the hospital and couldn't remember if I'd ever seen the character standing up before that.

Using a wheelchair doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t stand or walk at all - they are mobility aids.

I cried three times and having that particular Queen track at the end was devastating

Oh yeah, the end credit song was a shout at the TV moment for me.
The audacity!
Russell T Davies is both a genius and a right bastard sometimes (I mean that as a compliment!).

A few things from last nights episode.
That lawyer was fierce wasn't she? I mean she knew her stuff!
Although a relatively small role to date, Tracey Ann Oberman was great, wasn't she.
I knew that one of the symptoms of HIV/AIDS was the lesions on the skin but I wasn't aware that it affected the brain, causing the spasms as it did to Colin. Was that a common symptom?
Did anyone else notice Chris Jenkins?

HIV/AIDS has a huge variety of symptoms because it’s an immune deficiency, so people catch lots of opportunistic infections that can affect almost anything.
The Kaposi’s Sarcoma lesions are the most commonly associated symptom (along with weight loss, which they decided not to show because RTD was concerned about the effect of showing extreme weight loss on young audience members who struggle with eating disorders) because they are so visible and so very rare in that age group otherwise. They normally only develop in old age.
AIDS-related dementia was quite common, I believe.

I just tried to watch It A Sin After Hours on YouTube as it featured an interview with Callum Howells but had to give up after about 5 minutes as the presenter had the most annoying voice I have ever heard. I have no idea who she is but I cant believe they have let her present a programme. My nerves just could not take her whining voice.

I still haven't forgiven him/her for making me sit through their appalling performance in 'Death Drop' last December.

I assumed it was an ill-judged attempt by a British actor to portray an American talk-show host. I wondered why it persisted for the full 15 minutes, as it wasn't funny, and was a difficult listen.

Just finished, have stayed of here in case read spoilers and now i'm just spent the last half hour furiously swearing under my breath at characters and sobbing. Kind of feels like this should be mandatory viewing if there was such a thing (and people could cope with the sex). I had no idea how little I knew about this, never covered anything in school, I think the only AIDS conversations I've had were on here when Angels in America was out or The Inheritance. I wonder if I asked younger relatives if they'd have any idea what I was talking about.

I wonder if another series will be made. I still have the last episode to see so don't know who is left, but I am sure it could carry on. I hope so .

Interesting idea, but I don't think it could stretch to another series. In fact, I found last night's episode a bit rushed and wish they'd done 6 or 8 episodes (I think RTD wanted more) as the characters could have been a bit more fleshed out, I have little empathy for Ritchie (and I know there were people like him around) and I'd love to know more about Ash. I'm looking forward to the final episode, and hope it's as gut wrenching as the first couple were, unlike previous episodes my husband and I weren't disecting and discussing it afterwards, which has been part of the journey with the show, last night's episode was the year we first worked together!

Whilst up to the same standard acting and writing wise, for me, this episode wasn't as enjoyable.
Yes, the protests were powerful but for me (can't quite put my finger on it) it wasn't.
I thought that when Ritchie was on the boat home there were some wonderful camera angles and capture of light.
I didn't enjoy the whole scene with him on the beach with the barman.
The HIV diagnosis was predictable as was Roscoe adding his special ingredient into the coffee urn.
I too was wondering about the Ash character.
A small role but the doctor delivering the diagnosis was excellent.
it was interesting when the two other politicians turned up to the dinner, each with their 'boy' who all looked equally bored and confused as each other.
What an interesting confession from the Stephen Fry character.
