Thanks for posting. I am a big fan of Pina Bausch and her interpretation of The Rite of Spring. So this has been my stream highlight of lockdown, and it didn't disappoint. While the choreography is the same, staging it on a beach gave it a different feel to the version the Pina Bausch company perform. That version is staged in a (for want of a more technical term) a dirt pit, such that by the end of the performance the dancers are covered in dirt. For me that makes it a more gruelling vision. However, I was fascinated by the vulnerability that performing on sand gave to the Senegal beach staging. If you get a chance to see the Pina Bausch company perform it, I am sure you will find it a thrillingly rewarding experience. Stay safe
