I must say that most of my other bookings have been refunded/exchanged or they are in the process. The exception is ATG, the only ones still pending, and they are not replying my emails or answering the phone. Same - been almost 4 weeks now since this all started. Does anyone know anyone anywhere that has actually had a refund from ATG yet!?

Does anyone know anyone anywhere that has actually had a refund from ATG yet!? I got 2 emails yesterday from ATG for the Manc POTO tour for 2 e-vouchers. I filled out the on-line form that they have posted requesting a cash refund last night. Hopefully they will respond in due course and credit my bank balance (as one of the tickets was for a family member). If not, I'm going to end up with a lot of vouchers on my account by the time they get through all my orders.

In the interim have had vouchers for 3 of them! So seems the time to get to the online form is 3 weeks minimum. Did Tweet to ask what response times were. I don't really mind TBO, if ATG replied saying it was taking X number of weeks to get to the forms, at least would manage expectations. But they just said they were busy and would eventually get to the form! I don't know a single person that has actually had a refund though! On City of Angels, with predictions now coming in that we won't be open again until September, wonder if this will also be pulled. Also wonder if it does re open, if Houchen, Craig et al would extend. Cast half the (limited) appeal for me on this one!

Me again. I can assure you ATG are issuing refunds. We have now worked through around 30% of all refund requests through to April 9th. The remaining 70% will be dont by end of next week. Then we start on the next wave. I know everyone understands this but ATG are dealing with 600 deferent productions across 33 di=fervent theatres across the UK and most of the producers and theatre companies are asking us to transfer the bookings to fiuture rescheduled performances. We have 315000 orders to deal with and of course we are trying to keep as many bookings as possible in the shows accounts as they get rescheduled. Over 75 dates have already been moved and are confirmed on the website. Personally I have already administered over 85 individual refunds and more than 200 rebookings into the same show for future performances-particularly wicked and pretty women. I know its a tough time for everyone but please do not say things like ATG will never give refunds when we are doing exactly that. Yes its way too slow but the total number of bookings we are dealing with is enormous and so much more than all the other theatres companies because of the huge number of different productions and different policies that each of the theatre companies want us to service. The RSC have a different policy to The Lion King. The NT wants us to do something different to Back to the futures. People are getting refunds. I absolutely promise but of course we are helping people exchange into future shows or swapping for vouchers too. Most people want to switch to future shows, September is already booking very well and pantomimes are very very popular. When all this is over-whenever that may be we need to make sure the theatre producers have an audience to reform to. Otherwise they will all go bust and there wont be shows for months and months. ATG are the biggest theatre company in the world. Don’t forget all our venues in Germany and US too. Please I promise. I am in my kitchen, dealing with customers every day. As are 60 or so of my colleagues. Bear with us. Be well. Be safe. Stay inside. God Bless.

Guys, please. Mods closed the ATG thread for a reason. Can we please not derail this thread into another. Thank you! And thanks realmissbarnaby for your work.

I wonder if we could start a thread in the general section on theatre ticketing agencies, policies and services in general (rather than ATG only) - what they are all up to, offering, processes for punters to follow, response times etc etc.
I think it's reasonable that as a theatre fan site there would be people interested in discussing what's going on with tickets at the current time. Obviously those not interested will not need to go into thread. I think it'll keep cropping up in other threads otherwise.
Perhaps the mods could advise?

I think it's a great idea, so we can all share our experiences as they happen. I have no complains so far with refunds and exchanges with the exception of ATG. They should really learn a thing or two from Nimax. I do want to believe that ATG are doing the refunds, but the evidence so far seems to suggest that they aren't. My booking for a performance on March 23rd is still pending although I sent the form three weeks ago. A friend who called them with a similar issue was told that they are unable to process refunds while working from home, while another friend was told that all the refunds for shows in March have already been processed, which can't be true, my booking is from March and I am still waiting. Sounds to me as if they are making it up as they go along.

I think people should be allowed to vent and get things off their chests especially as we move further into lockdown and it gets tougher for everyone. I personally requested a refund for an ATG show 2 weeks ago for a show that would’ve taken place last week, and so whilst I appreciate all of the work the above poster is doing for ATG, the post is factually incorrect as I haven’t received a refund or communication yet despite the above post suggesting I should have. Similarly, I had a ticket booked for Waitress through Encore for the end of March, they emailed to said they’d refunded it on 30th March and it’s still not appeared. I am currently on a much reduced salary, and scrambling together money where I can, and the major delays are not helping me at all, and it’s made worse that I can’t hear other people’s issues or experiences so just playing the waiting game. I’d personally appreciate a thread where I can see other people’s experiences and estimates of times etc.

Yes, we think that is a reasonable request but with some caveats.
First, a quote from our rules The ATG thread was closed because it was turning into a rant. We will not be entertaining that so please keep in mind that the people working at the companies you are discussing are reading this thread. Unsupported speculation about policies without any information to back it up will not be allowed. Rants and attacks will not be allowed. This is an incredibly sensitive time. Please keep it factual and respectful. The thread will be closed if members can’t do this.
Posts moved here from City of Angels thread.

In the spirit of the thread then, my experience with TodayTix.
I've had two shows which were cancelled. Only Fools and Horses on the 26th March, and The Cursed Child on the 25th March.
I received my voucher for OFAH on the 26th March, and the Cursed Child one late last week despite the show being an earlier date. I think they must be dealing with booking for shows which are confirmed as cancelled in the order they were booked, as I booked my OFAH tickets quite a while before the Cursed Child.
Both vouchers were received in line with the timelines they set out, though I was a bit confused by the order, and any emails I sent with queries were answered the same day.
As a note, because this is one of the questions I had. You can't pre-load your voucher onto your todaytix account, but it will work like a gift card, in that you don't need to spend it all at once. Any money you spend will be deducted from the total on the code and you can continue to use it until you've used all your credit.

I have to say that most of the responses I've had from varying companies has been good and I've been impressed by how well places are dealing with all of this, particularly considering this is on a never seen before scale. Ticketmaster has actually been one of the best and quickest which I admit surprised me as it's certainly one of the biggest agencies out there dealing with goodness knows how many events. The one thing this will do is make me remember just who was on top of it and who wasn't when it comes to bookings in the future, where there's a choice of sites those who were on the ball will get my custom. Also those who had a set up where it was easy to choose refund/credit/transfer to new date/donation will be higher on my go to list than those making life difficult - not theatre as such but certainly looking at BA as last resort going forward.

Pretty much all my ticket refunds have been painless, as have rescheduling emails.
I will say that I am annoyed at ATG for their deliberately obtuse language around actual refunds, and no I don't want to start on them that is simply a statement of opinion, after all they shouldn't be above criticism.
TodayTix were the most helpful and the 110% voucher really generous, even though I took a refund due to the ticket price being so low.

So I have just had 3 e-mails from Starlight Express in Germany issuing vouchers! Not a problem for me as I will definitely be back to that one :-) E-mails all in German of course but a quick run through google translate explained things nicely. Very relieved it happened automatically as I didn't fancy trying to explain myself over the phone or fill out any online forms!
Also had an e-mail from Delfont Mackintosh giving you the choice of options (was due to see Les Mis next week - very sorry to miss out as had booked especially to see Richard Carson as Javert). Clicked through for the refund on that one as would like a Richard specific performance when it's back up and running so I'll book that myself rather than exchange now.

Couple of emails from ATG today
And
Perfectly sensible of them to offer an incentive to let them keep my money within their business. Unfortunately I can’t do it for Phantom, that was a group booking worth over £400 and my friends would like their money back.
However the BTTF booking was for just two of us and I’ll feel happier letting ATG hold the funds for that especially if there’s a “treat” to be offered. Maybe this is my chance to try the nibble box, mini bottle of wine and inner sanctum of the Ambassador Lounge!

Most of my refunds/credit notes/donations have been very smooth - however the two biggies I have outstanding are the Southbank Centre and the Barbican. For both of them, the first of the dates for events which I should have gone to have now passed, and for both of them, they've asked what I want to do (in both cases, I can't really afford the full amount to be donated, so I'm looking to get a full refund and then donate a portion back). Southbank Centre initially asked for an email to say what I wanted to do, and then later offered a webpage for me to do the same thing. Barbican asked for my bank account details (rather strange when they already have my credit card info), but again nothing has been returned. I'm due several hundred pounds from both of them for events already cancelled.

I got the same email from ATG as BurlyBeaR today for my Seagull Tickets. I thought they were really rescheduling this but now it seems just like a generic email they sent out for every show. What a shame. However I’m glad they are finally processing refunds. Let’s see how long it takes to show up on my credit card bill.
ATG were actually the first to issue a voucher for me. I contacted them to get a refund about two weeks ago and heard back today.
I had tickets for Six today and they refunded without any problems. Kept me informed through multiple emails during the process. Very good customer service.
I had not heard anything from the Other Palace regarding my Be More Chill tickets for tomorrow so I sent an email today. First got an auto response but then an actual message within minutes stating that they had sent emails last week and asking me to check my spam folder (I didn’t receive anything). However they assured me they had issued a full refund so I’m going to wait and see. But nice contact and quick response from them.

ATG for The Doctor now has refund in the pipeline.expensive tix. They wanted to rebook me but never gonna happen. One that got away. The Park, I let them keep the money. National giving vouchers which are ok for the future I think. I will prob send a donation. ( I can always use these for someone else in the family I think) RSC I let them keep the money, not expensive seats. Jermyn Street. I let them keep the money. Now they have had a flood, they are pretty down. Prob will send a further donation.

I've requested refunds for everything, apart from a couple of opera companies I've donated to, so I hope they've come through. As I do not do online banking & am not about to travel 5 miles in to Cambridge to go to the nearest bank I have no way of knowing until my next monthly bank statement comes through. I happened not to have any outstanding bookings with ATG so haven't had to deal with them. Everything I had booked mid-March through to the end of June I have been contacted about apart from the tour of Curtains up in Leicester, which I had booked for 21st March. I'm not too impressed as it's now 3 weeks after the performance should have been & their website still says not to contact their box office.

Just got off the phone to a lovely guy from ATG. I've managed to get the credit card refund ball rolling for a number of tickets today (having submitted the online form a few days ago). That leaves 1 e-voucher on my account rather than the current 3 vouchers which is more manageable and I can use that to book for the POTO Manchester dates if/when the dates get rescheduled.
I'm now just waiting for the Park theatre to get back to me as my last London theatre to get a refund / vouchers from.
Manc REX - No recent contact from them, but I did get an e-mail a few weeks ago saying that they are currently exploring options about future programming so they will give further info later on about exchanges and/or refunds.

National - was sent credit vouchers for the two shows I had booked soon, which is fine for me as I go often.
TodayTix - had a low price ticket for something but as I don't use them often, asked for a refund, heard nothing for a couple of weeks so asked again, and got a refund about an hour later.
Almeida - had two shows booked which were cancelled, was asked what I wanted to do and opted for a refund (but will rebook the shows if rescheduled). Refunds now received.
Barbican - have two shows booked, was asked a long time ago what I wanted to do, opted to input my bank info for a refund but haven't heard anything since. Seems the same for others, presumably they have a backlog but it would be nice to have an indication of when the refunds may be issued.
DTM - have tickets for To Kill a Mockingbird, was emailed to say they are rescheduling and they will let me know my new dates soon.
Don't have any ATG bookings until the autumn so will hang fire and see what happens to those.
Had a couple of am-dram shows booked featuring friends and they were first to send refunds!

Ticketmaster - Email last Friday stating My May performance of Hairspray was cancelled. This Friday £210 returned to my Bank account. Great Customer Service. Nimax - Promised refund for City of Angels - 17 Days later still waiting... ATG - Promised refunds for Back to the Future ands Pretty Woman - 26 Days later still waiting... I am extremely fortunate to be able to continue my job from home but for all those awaiting refunds to pay bills this is a very poor response from some of the larger companies.

I just wish I knew what was happening with my ATG cancelled booking, as I don’t receive any emails from them and I don’t have the time to sit waiting to get through on the phone (NHS still having to go into work every day)
