Loving Globe’s 2009 Romeo & Juliet.
Ellie Kendrick catches the youthful exuberance of first love brilliantly and Dromgoole is a damn fine Director of Shakespeare
Oh how I miss the Wooden O, no place I would rather be right now.

Buyer and Cellar featuring Michael Urie is up on YouTube for another day I believe. Really well done. I watched it last night and although I really enjoyed it, it was not the same as watching it live which I did when it was at the Menier. I missed the audience reaction and laughter.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this one yet (did a search of the thread and couldn't find it): Wise Children on iplayer here: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0892kf6/wise-children"Director Emma Rice brings her unique, musical and exuberantly impish vision to Angela Carter’s great last novel, in a production that has been seen at theatres across the UK. A big, bawdy tangle of theatrical joy and pain, Wise Children is a celebration of show business, family, forgiveness and hope. Expect show girls and Shakespeare, sex and scandal, mischief and mistaken identity - and butterflies galore. Loved by audiences and critics since its premiere at The Old Vic, London, in 2019, Wise Children has been seen by theatregoers across the UK. With support from The Space, it was filmed live at York Theatre Royal in 2019" I didn't know anything about this or what to expect, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

We watched Treasure Island last night. That was fun. And I've never read the book, but this adaptation has prodded me to, at least, get a copy to stay on the nightstand (or Kindle). The set was the star - even on a television screen. And we had a big bold laugh at how the play ended.

ncbears, I could not agree more: I saw it on Monday and thoroughly enjoyed it, actually much more than I thought I would! Ferran and Darvill were superb (are they ever not good in anything?!), and the whole play was so creatively and imaginatively done, that I am actually hoping to find the time to see it again while it's still available. It is the complete opposite of the plays I tend to go for - I normally prefer my theatre a bit dark and sad - but I absolutely loved this! :)

I am actually hoping to find the time to see it again while it's still available. Yes, we're halfway through a second watch before it goes offline - I recommended it to friends with a 5 year old and she loved it too.

Interesting re Frankenstein and A&C - I thought both were over-hyped when I saw them, though will definitely watch with pleasure (and wine) in these dismal times. Wheeling out the big names gets much-needed attention, I guess.
Really looking forward to Twelfth Night tonight, loved it when I saw it.

Being able to show Frankenstein is a game-changer, I think. International viewing figures will rocket.

Wow that’s exciting. I never saw it but is one actor as Frank stronger than the other? Not to put either against each other, they’re both wonderful actors, just wondered if there is a ‘best’ combination of roles?
I’m also excited about Tamsin tonight!
