I am not looking for sympathy. I have a slight temperature that is all but playing things safe.
I just thought I would start this so that others in a similar situation can offer each other support/advice/companionship

Yup...
Was getting chills, sore throat, runny nose over the weekend.
Woke up this morning with a fever and all of the above still.
Took a Lemsip earlier which has lessened symptoms greatly.
No coughing yet, so I am just hoping it is just a normal cold/flu after having to endure sub zero degree temperatures at City of Angels last week.
I am alone though and need food so gonna have to risk a few corner shop visits whatever is going on.

I work from home most of the time anyway so it’s very easy to do it. But I’m in a risk category (as the text from the GP screamed at me the other day) so I’m being careful. I just went down to the lobby of my building to pick up my mail and a Nespresso delivery (first world problems) and I was touching the lift buttons and door handles through my t-shirt. Then I got all paranoid about the mail and the box the coffee came in because someone on the radio said the virus can live on cardboard for 9 days 😰
I had a tribute band thing booked for tonight which I’m not going to. Not bothered about that. But I also had The Living Dead -Remixed booked for Wednesday which I think I’m going to miss too. My pal will be disappointed but I’m not committed enough to it to risk it.
Of course the biggie is POTO which opens in Manchester next week and I have a party of 7 going to it. If ATG don’t pull it I suspect I’ll end up going.
So isolating, no. Minimising? Yes.

Have been minimising social activities for the last few days after a hell of a cold. Thankfully seem to be over the worst, just a few sniffles and the odd cough now. Hoping I can be back to normal within the week.

I am pretty well but have a tickly chest...best described as when I breathe in deeply I can feel it tickle....so have rung work to say I am self isolating for a week. They are a bit short staffed but I reckon I am better being on the safe side. I very rarely get coughs (some people are more susceptible than others) so perhaps this is my own personal version! I feel fine in myself Hope you all feel better soon! X

:raises hand:
I've been dragging what seems like an annoying little cold for about a week now - nothing serious, mild temperature, runny nose, some sneezing, no cough - so I've been staying at home since Friday under the logic of 'better safe than sorry' (even though working from home is my actual version of nightmare - I'm an introvert, but need company, I'm a bit of a ridiculous paradox...). Admittedly, it is driving me a bit insane. I hate being locked up indoors, despite the lovely movie-marathons and good books and everything Twitter keeps telling me I should be enjoying. :)
I did have to come out to go to the store, though, and will have to do it again, because when I do go there's nothing to buy. (What a ridiculous situation that is!)

Physically I'm good, mentally not so great - not due to fears and anxiety over coronavirus, but other reasons.
So I'm home anyway. Got my work laptop, so I can do some work.
It is possible my office may close down, so may be told to stay home rest of the week.

I know that a message from a total stranger does little to make things better, but - hang in there. And if you need some distraction, or simply a way to pass the time, I'm happy to chat to you about theatre (and other things)...

Staying around the house. Luckily I have a lovely garden to sit in. My friend in Paris who lives in a flat says the parks are closed there. A crucial part of Paris life. Limited social contact. Still seeing kids but they are worried about me so they may well stay away to protect me. So books, Netflix, box set of West Wing, grocery deliveries fine so far and theatreboard. 😘

I am - no temperature but have a pretty constant cough, a wheezy chest and occasional shortness of breath. Apart from that I feel fine after a couple of paracetamol.
Mild corona or some kind of chest infection? We may never know!
Waiting to hear back from TodayTix on whether they'll refund my City Of Angels tickets for Wednesday night...

Yes. I had a cough which I'd dismissed originally. Now all I have is the shortness of breath. I can cope with it though it's really painful at times

I live in Hackney if anyone is self isolating in East London or around and wants someone to do some shopping or errands just let me know as I'm happy to help.
But I'm currently in Aberdeen but will be back in the big smoke on Wednesday evening.

The news that those who qualify for a free flu vaccination should self isolate for twelve weeks from this Saturday will include me as I have asthma. I work in the marketing team at a university so will hopefully be able to work from home. It's starting to feel very real now!

I have mild asthma- have never had the flu jab so I am wondering if this will include me or not.

And more advice from Mitchell and Webb:
(edit: In all seriousness, I suppose many of us will be on this board sooner or later ... good luck all!)

The NHS website defines those eligible for the flu vaccine for medical reasons (rather than age) as those with: - Chronic (long-term) respiratory diseases, such as asthma (that requires an inhaled or tablet steroid treatment, or has led to hospital admission in the past), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema or bronchitis - Chronic heart disease, such as heart failure; - Chronic kidney disease; - Chronic liver disease, such as hepatitis; - Chronic neurological conditions, such as Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), a learning disability or cerebral palsy diabetes; - Problems with your spleen – for example, sickle cell disease or if you have had your spleen removed; a weakened immune system as the result of conditions such as HIV and AIDS, or medicines such as steroid tablets or chemotherapy; - Being seriously overweight (a BMI of 40 or above).

My work place today decided, before the Govt announcements, that we would work from home for the foreseeable future. So I'll be home everyday. I am terrible at working from home and all usual appointments will be done by phone.
I need to find some motivation and discipline quick. So many distractions at home.

I have been, had to go out to get some supplies and medication today and then back to it.
I'm asthmatic and whenever I get a cough it turns into a bad lung infection which gives me attacks, so I'm playing it safe.
To know I won't be going out until June seems crazy though. But being out today, I don't feel as if I'm missing much, everyone is frazzled and I was worried to touch anything.
I hope everyone stats safe.

Not yet but with people at three different schools in the house I expect it won’t be long.
As increasing numbers of people recover I suppose then those people will be allowed to get out and about with no restrictions ? We haven’t been told yet. Maybe they should wear a badge or medal or something so that others don’t get anxious about dealing with them.

As increasing numbers of people recover I suppose then those people will be allowed to get out and about with no restrictions ? Hopefully that does happen, but I suppose the difficulty is that -given the range in type & severity of symptoms- not everyone will be able to be certain that they did have it (and then recover). Presumably eventually they will roll out tests more widely, but until that happens there's always the risk that people think they have recovered (and become immune) but actually they just had something else. ...and I suppose further mutation (or if it turns out people can be re-infected further down the line) would be another spanner in the works.

You are not immune to it once you've already had it, that is a fallacy. www.forbes.com/sites/brucelee/2020/03/15/can-you-get-infected-by-coronavirus-twice-how-does-covid-19-immunity-work/#f3dac2c5c0f8

I'm being forced into the self isolating thing because I'm old. I do get the bigger picture, but I'm still reeling at the thought of being stuck at home for the next twelve weeks or so. I am retired, but normally go out at least three times a week, and to London for shows at least twice a month. Theatre is a big part of my life. I am devastated for the theatre community - how they will get back on their feet after all this is anyone's guess.
I should also add I feel for all those who could lose their livelihood over this, the self employed, the small businesses, the larger businesses, bars etc etc etc. Our friend runs a pub in the country, and his main lunchtime clientele is the retired. Plus, now he will probably have to close anyway.
I'm also reasonably fit and healthy, but my heart goes out to all those not as fortunate as myself, with health problems. I'm worried, so I dread to think how it must be for you.
I haven't worked out all the mechanics of everyday life for the next few weeks yet. We do on line shopping, so will get whatever they have in stock, most substitutes welcome! I am going into town tomorrow to do some final bits of business, then that's it.
