I would assume the various Pride festivals will be pulled now. Edinburgh Pride is already cancelled - many of them will be later in the summer, but won't be able to prep in the usual way because of the difficulty of getting people together for planning .

Oh give over, you know that's not comparable in the slightest. Do you really think anyone who is stupid enough to book a theatre ticket now for anytime soon deserves any sympathy (separate completely of course from people who booked months ago)? They are probably the same type of people who think going to the pub is still ok... Of course we all want to support businesses, but it just isn't tenable in the current circumstances. It isn't surprising in the slightest that the theatre companies need some time to shut all their systems down and refund people, patience is required. But not everyone is in our theatre bubble and if they see they can buy tickets they would prob think that it’s still fine too. everyone else has taken their tickets offline Anyone would think you work for ATG...... I don't work for ATG, but I don't think the theatre companies deserve to be vilified like you are doing, especially given the position the government has put them in. You would have to be completely clueless and not have seen any news for a week to think that booking a theatre ticket now for any time in the next 2 or 3 months at least is in any way sensible, so I don't see how anyone should have sympathy for them if they lose booking fees (assuming as you are that the theatre companies won't refund those fees).

What about people with learning disabilities? Or is that ok coz they are “stupid” and therefore fine to be ripped off? look I don’t want to get into an argument with you. I work with vulnerable adults and financial abuse is rife so when I see a company (as I see it) actively ripping people off it really pushes my anger buttons

Obviously there are some exceptions, though those who are capable of booking tickets online must mostly at least also be capable of reading the news and understanding at least a bit about what is going on in the world around them. Anyway, my whole point is that you are jumping to conclusions that the booking fees won't be refunded when I would expect in most cases given the extraordinary circumstances booking fees might be refunded. As I explained, shutting systems down takes time, and the insurance position has to be taken into account given the government have left these companies in limbo. It seems to me your anger is directed at the wrong source.

The tour of A Bunch of Amateurs, that I was due to see in York at the start of June, has been cancelled.

That is a shame, but not surprising, given the timing. Most people are thinking theatres could be dark for up to 12 weeks, which could make Romeo and Juliet one of the first shows to open.

Totally agree with all these suggestions. Now would be the perfect time to make recordings available - including archive stuff that wasn't initially intended for public release! Would also generate some income for the companies. As this is partly an area I work in, while I completely agree with this, it's possibly not something that can happen quickly and definitely not down to individual theatres. Hopefully it's something that people can work together on, but the amount of paperwork that has to be generated just for a NT live showing is mad, let alone something for public release for an unknown period of time. So many people on twitter are asking the theatres to do this, and it's not really in their hands.

& Juliet is off sale until June 8th, and I've seen on Twitter that the remaining dates of the UK tour of On Your Feet have been cancelled.
