Just got back from watching this film and what a joyous film it is.
Very funny with proper laugh out moments and beautifully filmed. Brilliant and clever writing and with a great cast. So many famous faces in it and Dev Patel in the lead is excellent. I especially enjoyed Tilda Swinton and Daisy May Coopers performances. And the blind casting works a treat. Quite full at my mid morning screening which is quite surprising as I am usually the only person there. I would really recommend it.

How is Hugh Laurie as Mr Dick? I'm looking forward to seeing it as I really like Armando Iannucci's work and this is a bit of a departure for him creatively.

I really enjoyed this, a delightful feel-good film. I thought the whole cast was excellent, no performances I didn’t enjoy. Dev Patel is such a star, always comes across so warm and likeable. It’s a shame there was only about 20 people in our screening, though the whole cinema was quiet.

I loved this. A wonderful cast and an absolute joy to watch from beginning to end.

Thoroughly enjoyed this film. The whole cast is excellent which rarely happens. Stand out performances though were Dev Patel and Ben Whishaw. I remember seeing the tv series back in the mid 70s and have fond memories of it. Although the whole story is not told in the film it doesn’t really matter as it doesn’t detract from it. 4* from me

Fantastic film, barrels along at a pace with brilliant characters and belly laughs along the way. Two hours of escapist high quality entertainment - just go!

I was feeling a bit better so decided to risk this, armed with plenty of cough sweets. As with several other recent popular films (eg the 2 Paddingtons, Mary Poppins), it didn't sound at all my sort of thing but I went mainly to see what all the fuss was about and hoping to be persuaded. I did NOT like it: tedious, over-the-top performances and I nodded off at some point. I just don't "get" Dickens despite trying at intervals to give his work another chance, and think I had better give up now.
