Wow! Linklater is one of my favourite filmmakers, the Before Trilogy are masterpieces all. Boyhood over 12 years was one thing but this is insane!

wow- this is exciting, and slightly worrying. What if one of the cast dies 2 years before they're finished- all that work- what do they do?
Also worth nothing the director is 59 or 60 I read somewhere....

I don't know, I feel quite rolly eyed about this, I have to say. It's taking method quite a long way, and makes me think of the Laurence Olivier thing about 'acting, dear boy' being how you show, in this case, the span of the years. Acting, some make up, a wig or two, and he could have it all done for next summer.
The Before films were superb (well, the first two were), but I thought Boyhood forgot about having an actual story, amongst all the fuss of 'oooh look, they got older!'

An interesting idea, I would have preferred they make the movie using practicals to just age the cast rather than filming over 20 years but... that's ok!
I actually think that it will translate to film rather well, something about watching this story in reverse on screen I think will be easier to digest than stage.
Ben Platt... ok. Im not his biggest fan but he is talented, but as Frank and not Charley?! Now thats the most bizarre casting ever. You have the perfect role for him right there and you don't put him in it? Ok...?!
