I need to rewatch but I enjoyed next week's finale a lot more than the first part, the farce scene alone is one of the best things Mischief have done.

Oh dear, that was supremely unfunny tonight. shame. For a company that can do improv very well, I found it strange watching them doing deliberately bad improv. Given some of the general TV audience will probably have never seen improv before, I can't imagine that example would make many of them want to seek out more improv. |

It reminded me rather of the time I went to the 50 Hour Improvathon on a Sunday morning, when many of the cast had been doing it since the Friday evening & were clearly desparately short of both sleep & fresh ideas, so were basically filling time for a few hours before they could wind up all the plot strands at the end on Sunday evening. |

a matter of opinion of course, and I do adore the Mischief folk, but this week's show was pretty darn grim and flat i thought.

I adored the farce segment. That's the one I hope Mischief make a full show of. Everything from Charlie's gurning innuendos to Henry Lewis gleefully mincing about and Bryony's heroic commitment to the gag when her trousers get ripped off, it's the kind of ridiculous, over the top comedy I love.

It was also one of my highlights, however I'm not convinced you can make a full show out of that though - the joke of doing iffy farce badly would wear thin pretty sharpish I'd have thought. |

I'm on my rewatch of Mischief's Christmas shows, and The Spirit of Christmas really is sublime. Henry Lewis steals it, though Charlie Russell comes a close second, it's sublimely silly.

I agree that it is a better live experience than watching on TV. Didn't get the chance to see Magic Goes Wrong due to Covid.
