Harry Visinoni who played Seb was on tv this morning. In his last scene when he was dead they brought his girlfriend in to play Abi's hand who touched him when he was lying in hospital. When they reshowed the scene it is so clever the way they did it. It was a shock he died and I hadn't realised the attack was based on an actual case.

Fair play to them, it was pretty good last week, all the more so for keeping Seb’s death a surprise. They normally spoil stuff like that by announcing actors are leaving months ahead of them actually going. I’m just hoping they don’t have the aftermath of the attack drag on for months now though, we don’t need to see the police arrest half of Weatherfield yet again.

If you like Corrie, camp and Gypsy then tonight's episode of Corrie will be right up your street (Good Friday). Ruthie and Jodie singing "Everything's coming up roses" on the cobbles is a classic.

It’s all about Classic Corrie on ITV3 right now. I forgot how brilliantly written (also at times hilarious) the Richard Hillman episodes were.

Although admittedly this week has been bang average with most airtime being given to Sally having a fling with a painter decorator and that bloody awful witness protection family…

Back to current Corrie, I’m sure I’m in a minority of one but I’m loving how utterly ridiculous this Stephen storyline is…

Just watched the one from Wednesday. Wow, that scene with Maureen Lipman and Claire Sweeney was brilliant. Wish it was like that more often.

Last night’s episode was a new low for this Jekyll and Hyde year of Corrie. Certainly up there with the bomb episode at the start of the year.
I don’t understand what they were thinking with the Toyah kidnap storyline. The whole thing just came off as am-dram but also so low energy. I like the character but never felt invested in her kidnap and potential death. Extraordinary.
I feel like they’ve done Spider dirty if he really is leaving. What a mess of a farewell story.
The weird thing is they clearly still know how to create compelling scenes. The acid attack episode was incredible, while we’ve had great stuff from Maureen Lipman in recent months too (Cerberus death, the two handed scene with Claire Sweeney).
But tonight really rammed home how stale the direction, and presumably the writers’ room, is right now. The worst thing is Classic Corrie is going through a real purple patch on ITV3 right now so you can’t help but draw unflattering comparisons.
I’ll defend Corrie to the hilt in the face of naysayers but last night was bad, really bad.
Oh and Eileen’s new trim was… interesting.

Can we all agree that Dev is the worst actor on Corrie by a mile? Those stupid voices and accents and his attempt to be funny. Thank god Maureen Lipman is back in a couple of weeks time.

Great episode tonight focussing almost entirely on the Rovers and Jenny’s efforts to save it. Damon Alexis-Rochefort was one of the writers we always get some good humour from his scripts.

Anyone else have the slight pet hate the amount of time Corrie has characters messaging online and we have to pause to read the screen conversations. As a fair part of Corrie's audience is likely older people I can see this being a bit of an issue for none silver surfers or those with poor eyesight.

Just too many prison and court scenes in this. Lets have some of the legendary Corrie humour and pathos. There are some very talented comedy and drama writers who do the individual episodes but the big storylines aren't that good or just suddenly end.

This whole Roy/Murder thing will have people switching off in droves. It is cruel rather than thrilling and a total betrayal of these characters, and worse still, a shabby desecration of Hayleys memory. Let me know when it’s over please.
(And the fact that ‘the only policewoman in Weatherfield’ is such a recurring character shows how badly they rely on crime to drive the show now.)
