There is a story about an upcoming documentary on ITV - Sheridan Smith: Coming Home, in which "the Cilla star returns to her roots to confront personal troubles and face up to her past, as well as the loss of her father." Sounds hideous. Keep your personal troubles and the death of your father to yourself Sheridan. Really. They’re HER personal problems, and whether she wants to keep them to herself, or tell the whole world, is up to HER. No one will be forcing you to watch it.

Thanks for the advice, it’s equally up to ME if I want to comment on it. You can be 100% sure I won’t be watching.

The TV schedules are out, and Sheridan's hour long special will be on ITV on Sunday night at 9.30. Our BurlyBeaR will be spending the night making some of his celebrated Yorkshire Parkin, all ready for Bonfire Night. Like Burly, this type of programme isn't really my thing, but I'm tempted to watch just to see if I recognise any bits of Doncaster.

Sounds hideous. Keep your personal troubles and the death of your father to yourself Sheridan. Really. She's got Arena dates to sell, probably shift a few albums on the back of it too, an hours worth of free publicity ain't for nothing! I like her - a lot - and I really enjoyed her Who Do You Think You Are some years ago. Her brother died young, she was devoted to her Dad, I think there's an interesting story to be told. I thought she was wonderful in Funny Girl (which I saw numerous times at the Menier and Savoy). Loved her performance in The C Word (and the family of Lisa Lynch speak highly of her). I'll be watching (actually, taping, as I'm at the Tower of London for their new "light installation").

I like her.. but just on stage and on the tv. And not when she’s ‘oversharing’ either on Twitter or on tv documentaries. Especially if there’s a cynical background ploy to flog tickets for her shows by discussing the trauma of her fathers death. If indeed that’s what this is about.

Enjoying the new album, it's fun, very laid back listen which is great. It's sound and vibe is very much Sheridan which is what you want from a Sheridan album. The girl loves a guitar and piano doesn't she! Nothing too groundbreaking here, but a great follow up.

Hallowe'en may have been and gone, but fans of Michael Ball and Sheridan Smith are in for a right treat tonight. He's co-presenting The One Show, and she's the guest.
Thankfully, Alfie Boe isn't the other co-presenter, so I shall be switching straight over to BBC 1 after It Takes Two has finished!

She talked candidly about missing Funny Girl and having to miss shows because of her Dad and how she understand how people were upset about it.

Couldn't take my eyes of that massive tattoo on the back of her left hand.

She wore a sleeve on the FG tour to cover it.

It's a really emotional read. Having been a huge Sheridan fan for a long time, it just bought of those feelings back from when she did fall apart.

Sheridan looks set for another Top 20 album! A Northern Soul is currently at #13 in the midweek charts. So happy for her!

This was a great documentary and Sheridan seems to be in a great place now no doubt helped in a big way by her fiance who seemed very down to earth and they looked very much in love. That woman never seems to be not working if you think of the recent tour the new ITV series coming out in Jan and a BBC series with Alison Steadman, the Jo Brand film, plus the new album and upcoming concert. And I've lost count of how many dogs she now has. Must be in double figures now. As she said herself "mad dog lady"

She let the dog lick all over her fingers and then dove straight back into her chips. Lovely.
Did love seeing her up there doing her thing and being her natural lovely self though, really hope her and her fiancé last. This was definitely better than last year’s special.

I must be the odd one out as I thought it was awful. I love Sheridan as an actress but not really as a singer. But hey we all have opinions.

That being said, I thought her voice sounded good with the songs she was singing from her album. Probably because they weren't big, belty MT numbers. I found the documentary a bit odd - it felt like they couldn't decide whether it was a 'fly on the wall' thing about Sheridan's life or an album promo, so it ended up as a mash-up of both.

I think the album sounds fab, but the documentary made me feel a bit icky. It was a little too intimate, and I felt like I shouldn’t be watching these moments of her talking about her father and family.
Also, you certainly do get places in London that serve chips and gravy.

She is a fantastic actress but she reminds me of one of those pub singers who used to belt out Shirley Bassey’s Goldfinger that you could hear from miles away.

I think of Sheridan as an actress who can sing, you can class her as a musical theatre performer too or even a good all rounder.
A DVD release of any cinema broadcast of popular staged musicals would make sense once the show has finished it's run.
