Take all my money! I am not even joking. I’ve seen him on stage a few times but those were all plays. A concert is something I’ve been waiting for. Happy there are dates in Germany too. :-)

What a dilemma. Hate the O2 but the chance of seeing Hugh Jackman in concert means I will just have to be there. I have only seen him once which was the NT production of Oklahoma a very long time ago. My guess is tickets will be expensive. Also interesting to see how it sells. Most people only think of him as a film star and a bit of an action hero and not for musical theatre. Do we know when tickets go on sale?
Answered my own question. Friday 7th December for the o2

O2 is a souless barn. There's normally a pre-sale from the Wednesday for O2 customers and the like. I'd love to see this but - Not from rear or the nosebleeds will I shove money at this. It'll be a wait and see for me.

It's a shame that he's not doing somewhere a bit smaller like the Hammersmith Apollo but I guess this is the best option for just two days.

It'll be a wait and see for me. Totally agree on the venue. Think this is one time I am going to have to push the boat out or regret it. Strangly though I put a link on my Facebook page just now and a few of my friends who are not musical theatre fans are saying they are planning on going. Shows what I know.

What a great way to not only raise Hugh's theatrical profile and the awareness off all the X-Men/Wolverine muggles who don't know he can sing or perform and with the presence of Kealla Settle whet the appetite pf this who want to see The Greatest Showman as a staged piece.
Needless to say, I too will be going.

I would be shocked if an Australian leg of the tour doesn't follow the American run of shows.

Any inkling of ticket prices? Can't find anything online yet. Guessing it will be fairly pricey.

I would be shocked if an Australian leg of the tour doesn't follow the American run of shows. Well it would be rude not to , wouldn't it? Especially as he lives here part of the year! Funny enough, it was 3 years ago today that I saw this show in Sydney. He was doing songs from TGS even back then before the film was made.

I want to be as close as possible!

No wonder he is hitting the gym. For someone who has been out of MT as long as he has this is a massive tour. And all the venues are massive. No feel of intimacy here. I know he has been on stage in the US and long long ago in Oklahoma but this is a totally different animal. Part of Hugh's charm I think might be lost in an arena. On stage what could have been the maximum he performed in front of 2,000. I was able to see the prices for Madison Square garden and right now the lowest is $200 in nosebleeds up to $599 but they distinctly say that prices will change according to demand. So going up. Dynamic pricing.
I love Hugh just do not sing Bring Him Home or he will have no voice after a week its out of his range. I wonder who his support will be in the US and how many singers and dancers you know its going to be as I have said massive. He is a dancer so plenty of big numbers but not so sure about an arena. Would much have preferred a regular theatre.

Would much have preferred a regular theatre. He did a run of this show 3 years ago in Australia playing in large venues. Sydney venue was a 10-13k capacity (depending on layout) and was pretty much sold out every night. He can certainly pitch his performance to a larger space . I think some people who've not seen him sing live will be pleasantly surprised.

And for our International followers on here: Europe May 17 -- Amsterdam, Germany @ Ziggo Dome I know the Germans scared us Dutchies good and proper for a few years, but I'm pretty sure they got pushed back and Amsterdam remained in the Netherlands. 😉

I saw a full-page ad for this in the Evening Standard yesterday just after arriving in London and was surprised that I hadn't heard of this before. For once I'm lucky and he's actually coming to my neck of the woods at a date I'm actually home, so I shall go. Probably. Our Lanxess Arena is the same kind of soulless barn as the O2, so it's either forking out to be up close or not go at all, because what would the point be. So I'll await tickets. The good thing is, since no travel will be involved, I could always try for cheap returns or something on the day of.

In fairness, it's not really a European tour at all is it. It's just going to like four or five countries and they always get the big tours. It's bull really because alot of European countries always miss out.
