Carrie has built her following by responding to people and making people feel like she cares about them. She needs these interactions and the exposure to stay noticed and maintain her online presence so that when she has her latest book, fashion thing or whatever out, her followers will lap it up and buy and then tweet her to try and win her attention back. She is very savvy so I don’t think there is any naivety on her part whenever she posts something. I don’t follow her but have seen many tweets from her and she seems on a mission to preach a lot. Is it because she truly believes she’s perfect or is it to stay on people’s timelines so that she keeps up her social media presence? Either way, it annoys me. I know I should just ignore it but I like moaning so I won’t!

Some performers are contractually obliged to post a certain number of posts about their shows, this isn't a very good example of using social media to engage with your audience because it feels false.
My daughter has been watching her YouTube stuff and I've caught them in passing, She's very accessible and very successful...a talented lady with a good head for business.
Her fanbase is largely female and I can't help feel there's a certain amount of gatekeeping going on because how dare Carrie have an accessible platform to engage with people?

You just have to love the irony of people claiming Carrie should just ignore people tweeting unfair things at her on twitter, but who seem completely unable to ignore anything she does that they might slightly disagree with...
Anyway, back to the show. Ssw Georgina earlier in the week and she has settled into the role so well! When I first saw she, she was a little bit deer-in-the-headlights, since it was one of her first shows, but her confidence is really there now and she's making it her own.

I wouldn't spread that around too much, Andy might rewrite the whole show again based on that review

Does anyone know where the news about Cinderella being reworked came from? I haven't been able to find anything about this online. Is this confirmed or is it just a rumour?

Thanks for the info. To make substantial changes they would need to temporarily close the show. I can't see they could do much while the show is still running.

Was I wrong in thinking at some point this was called Bad Cinderella?

There’s been plenty of shows that have been completely reworked during previews to cut songs, add songs, cut scenes, add scenes etc. It’s almost unheard of for substantial changes like that to take place after a show has been opened this long but it is possible.

I wonder if this is just an attempt to drum up interest in that gala event? There's still a good number of seats available and with the recent hysteria and all, it would be a way to make that into another "event." Having listened to the recording multiple times, I do agree that Act 2 could be shortened. I wonder if they could even remove the intermission and make it a 90 min show or something which would make it flow a bit more. I doubt returning the "Vanquishing of the three headed Sea Witch." Honestly can't even figure out what possessed them to write that in the first place as it completely stops the action of the show. (And it's an unmemorable song to me) The most I would speculate is making some cuts to speed it up... and perhaps Cinderella getting a better "closing soliloquy" rather than those re-prises? I guess we'll find out on November 22nd -

He closed Sunset Boulevard and reworked it into the USA version

Yeah but that was 30 years ago. But really, when you’ve got the type of money ALW has, I suppose it doesn’t really matter, right?

The difference with Sunset Blvd was the American Premiere was 5 months after the World Premiere - so the creative team took all the criticisms and feedback, did work and revised the Los Angeles Production. After that was hailed as a much better production (which involved changes to the scenery as well) they closed the London Production for two weeks in March of 1994 to incorporate all the changes with new cast members. It's doubtful anything that substantive would be going on with Cinderella

Alw sat on BBC next to malala who was talking about female empowerment, equality, education etc. He champions female education apparently but all he really did was talk about how his new cinderella was comparable to what malala was talking about and they showed part of the cinderella trailer.
Also love never dies closed for about a week during its London run to implement changes

When shows make big changes do they typically announce it or do they just one day perform a slightly different show without fanfare?

It’s kind of a huge admission that they eff’d things up first time around so I wouldn’t expect whistles and bells. If ALW is forced to pass comment he’ll put some ridic spin on it “we’ve made it even more perfect than it was before” yadda yadda 🙄

For someone partly hired for her social media influence I’ve always marvelled how little CHF has done to push Cinderella with followers. After Cinders Saturday (or whatever it was called) bit the dust as a regular feature and doing nothing Cinderella related but post videos of her bows, today she’s asking fans to post questions about the show. But questions she can ‘show’ us the answer to. Favourite prop, Someone who’s visited in the interval etc Tempting to ask ‘favourite musicals composer’ and see who rocks up. Maybe the Cinders social media comeback starts here? New review quotes and posters up http://instagram.com/p/CWQMcXQtYvG Anyone going to see the gala? We need boots on the ground.

All this talk of big changes reminds me of... the exact same talk a few months ago when the show's official opening was pushed back during previews due to the government's "Covid restrictions" and he halted performances. If ALW thought big changes needed to be made, that was the time to make them. It re-opened with minuscule tweaks, and I wouldn't expect anything more than that this time - especially if the current version of the show is still running in the evenings.
Personally, I think it needs a big old revamp and suspect it will get it before it goes anywhere near Broadway. But then, the show's creative team must be happy with how it looks here because they've had plenty of opportunities to make changes in the past given how often the official opening has been delayed.

CHF has been clapping back at people saying her face doesn’t appear in the marketing for the show so don’t you dare expect her to be in it when you go etc etc. Then the second billboard sized photo of her turns up. Don’t try challenging her, she’ll tell you the photos on the outside of the theatre aren’t the same, don’t count and if you’re looking at them you’ve already bought a ticket anyway . Which if true would rather negate the point of ANY advertising outside ANY theatre. Oh Carrie… keep trying!

Saw the show again last night this time with Georgina as Cinderella who was brilliant. Lots of small changes since I last saw the show. Mostly lines cut to make the show slightly shorter. Many ensemble moments cut too and some line changes including the one where an ensemble tells the Stepsisters Tiara’s aren’t worn is Paris anymore and take it for herself - now Cinderella tells them she read it in a magazine. They respond with “We cant read! Reading is for ugly people!” Also noticed some set changes too. Not sure if this is all they are doing or if there will be bigger changes.

Which ensemble moments have been cut?
