Yes a real shame. She was the classiest thing about it. Interesting to see who replaces her. They are very big shoes to fill.

I always thought the show was a bit beneath her really. She is a class act and will be missed. It surely has something to do with her not getting on with Shirley Ballas. Both have mentioned in the press what good pals they are. I think they protest too much!!

It will be interesting who they get to replace her.
There aren't many high profile UK female dancers from a more classical/theatrical background who would fit into that particular gap. Ideally we might get rid of at least one other judge to allow for a broader realignment of the panel.
I really hope it isn't one of the former professional dancers from the show - it needs to be an outsider who can be both technically aware yet constructive and supportive.
Someone known for dance, with a range of experience and a warm personality.
Would Bonnie Langford be completely out of the question? She has danced her way through many shows... and by all reports is a lovely person. She knows her way around the reality tv show game - having had her appearances on Dancing on Ice.

Bonnie is an interesting shout as she is well known and has had dance experience. If we assume they will go for another female judge - the panel was 3 to 1 male until Shirley came on board. Personally I'd love to see Bonnie do Strictly as a contestant. Former dancers who are/have been involved behind the scenes too like Karen Hardy, Ian Waite or Erin Boag spring to mind.
Alesha Dixon was a former winner who went on the panel, could they even consider Stacey as she is an experienced TV presenter and the BBC want to do stuff with her. Ore has presented the last couple of tours and again is an experienced TV presenter plus it keeps BAME quota up as there has been this thing that some have said BAME contestants often don't get the votes.
Ideally I'd like someone with pro dance experience - Joanne Clifton is doing well with her theatre work and is a former Strictly Champ so could be an option but marking her brother and former sister in law could be a conflict of interest. Pasha was a fantastic dancer and choreographer but has a quieter and laid back persona so may not be ideal for the judging panel.

Remember Darceys first ever appearance where in the judges comments section she ended every sentence with “Yah?”.
“So just a little more intent on those lunges, yah?” “I loved your connection, yah?” “Watch those shoulders, yah?”
eta someone actually made a video lol

Oh please pick Ian. Please. If only to get him away from the drool-pool left behind every Wednesday by Zoe, who must be the last person in the entire country to realise that he's unavailable.
However, I feel it should be someone with a quieter demeanour in order to fit in with the others. Oti, bookies favourite, is so dreadful on that other show I turned off after 2 minutes I dread to think. She'd make Bruno look like Andy Murray on sleeping pills.

I often find the BBC is a law unto itself, but I think it unlikely that the judging panel will return to 3+1, rather than continue as 2+2.
Personally, I'd like it to be Karen Hardy, though she seems to have burnt her bridges with Aunty.
It will probably be Alex Jones...or Nick Knowles!

I think they should go for Katya Jones. At least with Bruno and Craig on the panel there's very little chance of another kissing scandal with one of her male co-stars.
Or Kathy Burke. As Linda La Hughes.

Personally, I'd like it to be Karen Hardy, though she seems to have burnt her bridges with Aunty. Oh please no, I'd rather have practically anyone but Karen Hardy! Both Oti and Joanne Clifton are too close to the current crop of pros to be neutral enough. Personally I'd pick Erin Boag or Natalie Lowe - both of them know what they're talking about and are great when they do the guest slot on It Takes Two!

Not sure where they got some of them from! Most of those names would be completely unsuitable, though Ribero was a decent guest judge.

There is no way Joanne Clifton can be a judge whilst her brother remains a pro dancer on the show. Enough of the favouritism.
It needs to be a respected performer who is a contrast to the rest of the panel. And the panel needs to retain some balance - so if none of the other three are also stepping down, Darcey's replacement should also be female.

Names floated by the BBC and others..I didn’t say they were my own unique choices. Why the nit-picking? Perhaps I should have made a left-field guess at Mickey Mouse,Godzilla or Arsenal Wenger?

Out of all the female names mentioned above, the one who would fit the best I think is Natalie. I saw her's and Ian's show and they did some talky bits. She was absolutely regal in her demeanour (despite Ian's 'hilarious' jokes at her expense) and looked like a goddess too! She would be a great contrast to the rest of the panel. However TallPaul, they could go back to a 3-1 because they have 2 females presenting. (3 if you count Zoe.)

My first thought was Bonnie Langford as mentioned above. Much as I detested her in the 80s I am happy to admit my opinion of her has changed and with her background she would be excellent. As also mentioned, Natalie Lowe would be a great choice as well.
Whoever the powers that be choose, I hope they put knowledge of dance first over "celebrity". Otherwise we could end up with someone like Gemma Collins.

You guys may have hit on something with Bonnie Langford. She kind of has ‘national treasure’ status, exudes a big cheesey showbiz demeanour and can dance up a storm as seen in 42nd St recently. She could easily manage the twirly dancey bits with Craig Revell spinning-top at the start of the show and has enough industry knowledge to pass muster.I am off to the bookies right now!!

They could, Tibidabo, but I think that would be viewed as a retrograde step. I hadn't thought of it before, and perhaps it's just a coincidence, but it's interesting that it's the fourth judge that has changed relatively regularly over the years. Anyway, I haven't got time to get involved right now - Springtime on the Farm, recorded in Barnsley, is on't telly!

Bonnie Langford would be a great judge. I just wish they would get rid of Tess and Claudia
