Went last night which will probably be last time until the last night. Sat in the usual AA seats. Looked as if only 2 levels were open but it was a Monday. Took a friend who had not seen this run of the show and he loved it so another convert. Bonnie really has settled into the role perfectly and has added a lot of comedy moments. She is perfect for the role. So look forward to meeting some of you on the 5th Jan.

LBC’s Steve Allen was incoherently burbling on about the filming the other morning so word has obviously got out good and proper.

Do we know when we're gonna get any details about the screening? Because I'm trying to programme a cinema and want to leave a space! Ha thanks!

I’m going tonight so will look out for cameras. Could be a dummy run/practice setup for filming next week with all the principals maybe?

I’m also there tonight - got a day seat this morning as a treat after a tough week. No mention of filming by the box office staff, but I’ll keep an eye out!

6 cameras spread through side and rear Stalls, 1 at the front of the Royal Circle, 1 at the front of the Upper Circle. All fixed on tripods. Philip on for Billy and Steph for Maggie so I’m very excited!

Hey guys! I am from Germany and usually spend some days once every year.
So I'll be in London in December - especially to see Chicago and Kinky before closing. So I have one Wednesday matinee left. Why should I go and see 42nd (which I have seen a fee years ago twice in Germany) instead of the Mormons or Jamie or or or...
Looking for your answers - and please be patient with my English (especially my mistakes...)

Looking for your answers - and please be patient with my English (especially my mistakes...) 42nd Street is the best show currently in London. It's spectacular, dazzling and a joy to watch. Seeing 50 people tap dance, marching down a massive staircase is nothing short of stunning. Other amazing moments with a mirror and the opening number keep the show going from strength to strength. It's also got a great set and stunning costumes. If any other reason to go, it's obviously to see the incredible performance by Clare Halse. She is the hardest working woman currently on the West End and has for the past two years amazed everyone. Her performance is one I think we will remember for years to come. If no other reason, seeing her live in this show is the one.

Nice little pre-show announcement saying that they’re not actually recording tonight, but the cameras are rehearsing ready for the shows they’re recording at the start of next week.
The band are on fire tonight, they’re sounding great. A few mic issues for Philip (there always seem to be mic issues for Billy!) but he’s lovely. Steph is doing well as Maggie but isn’t quite as funny as Jasna (a very hard feat to be fair to her!). Bonnie is absolutely brilliant - it’s my first time seeing her and she is nailing the comedy and smashing the songs.

Am I the only one who has found Jasna fairly hit or miss? For the most part, she is hilarious and great and all that good stuff, but at least a quarter of the times I've seen the show, she has kinda seemed vacant and going through the motions. That said, I really like Jasna, she's fabulous and I love that she embraces a long run like Charlie and this show, as well as that she always puts a smile on everyones face.

Was in last night and Phillip was poorly mic’d as usuals you would think after nearly 18 months they could get it right by now! The sound guys really let the show down at times. Ashley went sick after yesterday matinee. Hope he is well enough for the filming next week.

Was also in last night and yes Billy was practically inaudible once again. This has been a constant criticism Regardless of who has played Billy since the show opened - especially during Dames. Spoke to the sound desk at the interval, told them we couldn’t hear Billy once again and they said, ‘oh, we’ll look into that’. Are they asleep in there?. Frankly I’m amazed that the producers or company managers haven’t picked up on this. There have been performances where various cast members mics appear not to have been turned on until they’ve started singing and one show where he conductor turned round and glared at the box because the sound was all over the place. Whoever does the sound on this show should be fired. Mind you, I guess it’s a bit late now - but it ruins the show. Why is it still so bad after 20 months ?!

Thanks to theatremonkey's excellent site, I see there are matinées on the Thu, Fri and Sat between Christmas and New Year. Does anyone know which ones Clare will be doing? I'm hoping to take my mum and as it will be her only visit, I would really like her to see Clare.
