TV recordings can drag on especially if they are in a none studio venue. I know that as I've been to other recordings especially at the Palladium & Theatre Royal Drury Lane. However I've not been waiting in the queue to have a member of staff shout abuse at us. Also usually the first people there get the best seats - with the exception of the Priority ticket holders.

Just tweeted "All Star Musicals" about this. First time I've tweeted & I know I should have done something at the time but I just couldn't face the long haul up the so steep stairs in the Upper circle [ I'm only 5'2"]. It was almost like abseiling.

The runners/goffers on these shows often have a pressurised job and they need to keep the audience on side so to be abusive to the audience is no excuse. The warm up person is a key here as they can keep the show going. Audience holes can be papered over but if it is an audience vote and very few are there then it's not good.

I believe the abusive man was an SRO employee rather than the theatre or show. And yes the walkouts started well before we got to the vote.

I’ve been to a few TV tapings - back in the day I’m even somewhere in Duran Duran’s Reflex video. I have to say when I was younger and needed a free night out they were okay but as you say they tend to drag on. This sounds just poorly handled especially in such a large venue. I don’t think I’d do it again unless it’s someone really special - Babs I’m looking at you ! My mates been to Graham Norton a few times and they seem to be okay as when they have the big Hollywood stars they don’t keep them hanging around. Also if you’re up for it First Dates is fun - they don’t use everyone and there’s so many cameras it’s literally dinner and a post dinner film if they choose you.

That's cool being in the Reflex video, I can remember that back in the day, filmed in Toronto I think.

I'm watching it for ex-42nd Streeters and enjoying it for them! Not really taking any interest in the contestants but enjoying watching and spotting Zac Watts and Ryan Gover.

I'm watching it 45mins late so I can skip the adverts. I'm also looking out for the 42nd Streeters. Audience cheering throughout the 1st song. Annoying but I guess this will continue throughout.

Wow, I didn’t know Alan Titchmarsh could sing! He used to do lots of Amateur Dramatics with my mum's friend, my mum's seen him perform quite a few times- one time was in the Mikado, I don't know what the other shows were.

Wow, I didn’t know Alan Titchmarsh could sing! Judging by what’s on my TV at the moment... he can’t. Joel was robbed with 3 stars.

One of my ex-students is dancing in the show so I am watching to support him.If this kind of thing helps to sell tickets in the West End and in the regions for the crazy wonderful thing we call musical theatre then I am all for it.Might be a big if,mind!

I wish they'd do a proper musicals show, with proper musical performers who can actually perform. Gary Wilmot did a series years ago, maybe in the early 90s? I remember it being excellent - it showcased current good performers at the time, and I think encouraged people to actually go to the theatre. Stuff like this is why normal people expect a celebrity name in a musical and won't go if they're "just" musical theatre actors who aren't massively famous.

Expect the announcement - Martin Lewis as Joseph this week. Don't even joke. I bet Bill Kenwright has the ink on the contract already. However, I'd give Daniel Broklebank a job any day.

Am watching on delay. This is comedy gold! More cheese than an Edam factory. The Mama Mia opener was a tuneless dirge and yet the panel gave it amazing reviews.Maybe I am over-thinking this candy floss dross.Sorry have to go...someone from Emmerdale is about to murder ‘Don’t Rain On My Parade’ and I may be called for the identity parade later for crimes against Funny Girl.

Or actually carry forward the ALW idea of showcasing potential talent and building some stars. Its been 9 years since the last of his BBC shows and the best of the talent he found is now providing leads to multiple musicals and one award winning film star. Time to restoke interest and advertise musical theatre again.
I think most people watching this would resolve never to go to a musical if it sounded this weak
