What a production. Lurred in by the opening line of press material 'Based on the true crime story of murderous duo...' I turned up at Home this evening unsure of what to expect. Firstly a note on the transformation of the main proscenium theatre space into a very effective 'in the round' auditorium. Hopefully more productions get staged in this format because it works very well. Unsure of how really to describe this, all I can say is it's a twisted, almost decadent insight into the suppression felt by two sisters under the employ of their mistress. To completely patronise this production would be to describe it as 'The Silence of the Lambs meets Rocky Horror'. But that just wouldn't do it justice. It is radical in every possible way and brave for being so, but thoroughly enjoyable and very effectively presented. I'm trying not to give anything away but if your about and get chance to see this in Manchester this week - do it!
