That's really too sad. As someone who relished Ragtime in the '90s, I pretty much grew up listening to her amazing rendition of Back to Before.
I'm so lucky to have finally seen her about two years ago at 54 Below. I was in tears as she sang Happiness and Back To Before.
There will never be another Marin Mazzie. Sad day for the Broadway community. We lost a precious one.

This is devastating news. Truly one of the most glorious voices on broadway.
I’m going to listen to her sing Back to Before from Ragtime, as she did so thrillingly.”, and raise a glass of wine to her.
Such sad news.

It's heart-breaking, she was one of the very best. With so many great roles still to play.

So sad. She was such a wonderful performer. Was lucky enough to see her in next to normal.

Very sad & far too young. I was never fortunate enough to see her live but have enjoyed her singing on cast recordings.

She was quite unique, amazingly versatile and in an earlier age would have been a huge star. So glad I got to see her in Kiss Me Kate and Ragtime. So sad we can never go back to before and hear her once more.

Pardon my French, Cancer is a B*ITCH.
Loved her on the Ragtime recording and I saw her life in Spamalot and The King and I. She was always wonderful and she will be greatly missed.
Did she ever make it to the West End?

Did she ever make it to the West End? Yes, in Kiss Me Kate at the Victoria Palace in the Michael Blakemore production. She and the production were fabulous! A great loss.

This is beyond sad. I was fortunate enough to see her in And The World Goes Round, Passion, Kiss Me Kate and Ragtime. She was never less than sublime.

Oh how dreadfully sad. What a glorious voice she had, no-one has or will ever sing 'Back to Before' like her.
And if you ever get the chance to hunt out her recording of 'Nellie The Nudist Queen' with her equally glorious voiced husband Jason Danieley then you should.
What a loss.

It's been a while since an actor death really got to me but this one did. I only saw her once in Next to Normal where her and Jason blew me away (how, how they did that show every day as a real married couple is still beyond me) but I adored her for so many years. It's been wonderful to see just how much the theatre community loved her. And she was a hell of a fighter too. So sad.

I first saw her in Ragtime, pre-Broadway, when I didn't know who she was - and was completely blown away by her performance. Back To Before was absolutely devastating, I'll never forget it. Later, when she moved briefly to California, I saw her in 110 in the Shade and Brigadoon, both with her husband, Jason Danielly, and she was wonderful in both - she was as fine an actress as she was a singer, which is saying something. I always felt she had the most beautiful soprano voice on Broadway. Or anywhere, really.
This news is just overwhelming. Words fail. RIP to a great star.

It was a performance I will never forget, full of truth, heart and soul. Beautiful. Such incredibly sad news.

She could do it all - drama, comedy, opera, musical comedy - there was nothing in the performing arts she couldn't do and she was a warm, generous human being off stage as well. RIP.

Here is one of my favorite videos of her. She doesn't sing but she talks about her favorite mishaps that happened to here on stage. Marin Mazzie OBESSED!

A glorious voice, a wonderful actor, by all accounts a genuinely lovely person, and 57 is no age at all. How terribly, terribly sad.

I listened to her duets album with Jason on the train today, beautiful all round as it ever was. I have to admit 'Move on' really got me though.

I actually had forgotten I saw her in Carrie until yesterday. But that's credit to her (plus my forgetfulness). I'd previously seen her in 110 in the Shade and her character in Carrie was so different. I later saw her in The King and I and am so glad I did.

Sad indeed, way too young. Loved her version of 'Back to before' from Ragtime.
