That's not "just a reply", that's a quote-tweet reply, so all of her nearly 270,000 Twitter followers would have seen it.....

I saw a comment on the WOS story on Facebook along the lines of "great, now I just have to find out when Jack is leaving and I'll book". OUCH.
(Funny though.)

Okay fine, but the person who booked the tickets obviously doesn’t follow her or didn’t see the tweet! It’s never been an official thing that Waitress or the marketing peeps have announced. When you go to the booking sites and see Katharine’s name plastered all over them and it says “booking through October” of course most people would assume she would be on then! At least Katharine has been more open about it, but the Waitress marketing definitely hasn’t! I’m not even blaming them btw because they obviously were keeping it open until her actual leave date was confirmed (and she has extended) but it still sucks for the person flying halfway across the world!

That's just my thoughts anyway.

Yeah I feel bad for the fan but if I personally was travelling across the world to see someone in a show I’d be all over their social media checking they would definitely be there!

Can I just point out - if it's the same comment I'm looking at (claudia2rose) - she's not flying all the way from Australia just to see KMP in Waitress. Looking at her most recent IG post, she's coming to Europe on a 3 month trip. Unfortunate, yes, but I dare say she didn't plan her trip around this.

The general consensus was that Kat was going to leave around Late May Bank holiday weekend so she is actually staying on a little longer. She is becoming the 5th Mrs David Foster over the summer so was never going to be in the show for that long. Maybe there could be a Musical called Five featuring Kat and others playing David's 5 wives singing his songs and songs by late 90's boy band 5.

Oh also, Marisha took over Waitress London’s insta stories yesterday (@waitresslondon) and it’s super fun (and also really interesting with all the backstage stuff), so any Waitress fans in here (!) should check it out. LOL especially at Marisha going on stage for the Bad Idea reprise, Marisha and Kat doing Hey Big Spender, Kat’s quick change after the first scene with Dr P and her British accent, and Kelly Agbowu singing Private Dancer as Nurse Norma! 🤣 Seriously Kelly sounds more like Tina than Adrienne Warren, respect! 🙌😄 Seems like such a fun cast! David Hunter is also such a cutie 😍

I know this going off topic a little, but Waitress (or Camarera) opens in Buenos Aires in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping they bring this to Spain, like they did with Next To Normal, as I'm not sure I'll get the chance to see it in London.
(Guido Balzaretti from the Spanish productions of Les Mis and Next to Normal plays Dr Pomatter.)

It’s so easy to take all the great shows we can see on Broadway and the West End for granted, I know I’m guilty of it! Do you think Waitress is a show that would play well to Spanish audiences?

If she has had work done then I think it's a shame for at her age there is no need or reason to want anything done. Her and David seem very happy together and fair play to David if he can charm a woman half his age, there may be jokes about money but Kat must be fairly comfortably off in her own right and has moved her career from pop music to musical theatre successfully.

You’ve nothing against her and yet the only times you seem to come in here are to throw personal shade at her, okay then! You just comes across as bitchy! “Has her face moved yet”, “her rich old fiancée” “how dare she go on a morning tv show when she should be resting her voice” - I could go on .... and as a woman myself who’s worked hard at my career I actually find it really insulting and frankly sexist that you’re insinuating (oh I’m sorry, joking!) she’s just marrying someone for money when she’s clearly worked very hard to have a very successful tv / music career in the 10+ years since she was on idol and is a multi-millionaire in her own right! Anyway, I’m sorry for bringing it up! I just happen to like this show, and the cast, and would like to post about that without having to wade through the bitchy comments all the time! Let’s just leave it at that shall we ....

Let’s just leave it at that shall we .... I've not seen the show but I certainly liked the film. I was just a bit surprised to see her on Jeremy Vine as it's more a discussion show. Sunday Brunch was a sit down interview with her to promote the show, also Kat would clearly have not needed the show's fee. Jokes about age difference marriages have been going for years, David has been throw 4 separations/divorces and no doubt is/has been paying out a lot of alimony. Kat probably makes as much as he does now and will likely have greater future earning potential than him going forward. I don't know what her Waitress weekly fee is but I'd hazard a guess at a fair few thousand. Her TV work, record sales. concerts likely means she is well off in her own right. I'll happily admit that I am very bitchy at times but this is meant more in jest than in a dislike for people certainly in Kat's case.

It’s so easy to take all the great shows we can see on Broadway and the West End for granted, I know I’m guilty of it! Do you think Waitress is a show that would play well to Spanish audiences? I guess London is fairly accessible for me, so I am happy to make the trip for an event, or something I really want to see. But it means I can't always get to see everything I would like to.
I will be in London in July, and already have a couple of things booked - but as much as I'd like to see Waitress, it's not the top of my list if I have time to catch something else. It depends on the ticket situation at the time, but I'm swaying more towards Come From Away, based on pricing (accessibility via day seats/rush tickets) and word of mouth on here.
Regarding Waitress in Spain, I think it could do well. There's a lot going on at the moment, so I think there is an appetite here for musicals. You have the long runners in Madrid (currently The Lion King, Billy Elliot and Anastasia); but also other shows doing a season in Madrid and/or Barcelona before going out on tour (West Side Story, The Addams Family, La Cage Aux Folles, Ghost, A Chorus Line, and Young Frankenstein are all running at the moment, or are about to open). So while Waitress may not be a well known name, it could go down the same route as Next to Normal, with short runs in Barcelona and Madrid, with a few other cities in between. And if it finds an audience, stick around for a bit.

It would be cool if they could get Shoshana over for a run when KMP leaves in mid June. She leaves Broadway run in 2nd week May so could have a break and then come over to London for rehearsals and handover. She'd know the role too so would need less time to break in. Plus she'd be a notable name to take over,

Oh well great Broadway show, that’s why it has run over 3 years, poor West End show, that’s why it is been speculated it will close soon, haven’t helped it hasn’t discounted.
Saying that if they opened in the Savoy with the magnificent Sara Bareilles it wouldn’t of needed to have discounted and would have hit the road running.
