andrew are you not a fan of Lucie as Jenna? According to west end understudies twitter Olivia is on today and both shows tomorrow. No, not at all. She has a strong voice but for me nothing about her fits the role and her overall performance was disappointing, to say the least, so I am only planning on returning when understudies are on. Thanks! I don't suppose anyone is selling 2 rush tix for tonight? 🙃 Really confusingly I got tagged in this. I was like "I didn't say that? I don't hold these opinions on Waitress?" Then I was even more confused about there being someone else with my username Now I understand it isn't your username it's just your display name. Very confusing. |

I think I said in a previous post that the way she played Jenna was just a bit too cheery me and her performance didn’t feel all that natural. Vocally she was great! I’d like to see Sarah as Jenna but it’s hard to plan because we never find out until on the day unfortunately 😬 |

It’s so hard to know when we don’t have any box office figures to go by like for Broadway. From looking at availability there seemed to be much more availability after Kat left and the tickets seemed to have reduced in price a bit as well. But then, like someone else said, recently it seems as though there are loads of tickets available and then it seems well sold the next day, so idk if that is comps or just more last minute sales with it being summer now and the tourist trade. As for Ashley, I really don’t know. The weird thing for me is that the chatter on twitter for her being in the shows is kinda non-existent. Like I haven’t seen many people talking about going to the show specifically to see Ashley, but then maybe that’s because the people who do are less likely to be avid theatre goers and less likely to tweet about it? So yeah idk. The fact that Laura’s now confirmed she’s back on August 12th (so a 8 week break) makes me wonder if Ashley’s stint hasn’t been that successful and they cut it short a couple weeks, because at Kat’s last show David def said she’d be gone 10 weeks. Laura’s not gonna increase sales but I’ll bet she’s a lot cheaper than Ashley. So so basically I have no idea 🤣
Thank you very much, I appreciate your response. Yes, I guess it's difficult to say what difference Ashley has made to ticket sales, given all the different factors. And even more difficult when they don't report box office figures.
I don't really follow the Waitress chat on Twitter, but there was nothing significant posted here, so didn't know if Ashley had brought any sort of extra buzz to the show. But from what I've seen, there seemed to have been more negative chat about Laura being replaced, than positive chat about Ashley replacing her (although I realise that's from fans of the show, and not the general public).
TodayTix have some good deals for the coming week, and I was going to book row B centre stalls for £35, but I've decided to wait until Laura returns.
It hasn’t felt like there’s been a lot of extra buzz other than unfortunately the negative stuff with the Ashley casting, but I’m really only basing that on theatre twitter really, so I don’t know if her name has had an impact with the wider public. I guess we’ll never know 😬 I’ve just looked on today tix and there are some really good deals. They’re def discounting more than they have been previously. People who know about these things is this usual for shows in the summer months? |

The guy comes across as a bit of a jerk tbh. He’s been hating on Waitress forever and jumping at literally every bit of news to turn it into something negative. So he doesn’t like the show, that’s fine. But to act like it’s some terrible abomination on the theatre scene (despite all the positive critics review) and actively be calling for the show to close is just really distasteful. I’ve seen quite a few of the cast replying to him. The actual blog about it is just really spiteful, especially the stuff about Blake. |

Guys guys, get yourself to NYC, because apparently you can catch Lucie, Marisha and Laura in Waitress Broadway too! 😆 According to Marisha’s insta stories they’re using the promo pic of the three of them for the huge permanent Waitress promo board in Times Square lol!
NGL tho, this sucks for Alison Luff .... she’s the new named Jenna and they’ve always featured the actress in that promo slot. She doesn’t have her picture on the playbills either. They’re still using Shoshanas! I guess now they’re closing they’re not gonna spend marketing money on things like new promo photo shoots etc (well other than for when Colleen and Todrick start no doubt!) 🤷🏻♀️

I’m guessing Nathaniel Morrison is making his Ogie debut. Blake confirmed on his Instagram that he’s off today as he’s appearing at LFCC, and Nathaniel is the only cover yet to make their debut. |

Understudies should be able to announce when they are appearing in advance. I'm sure an understudy for Ogie announcing he will be on won't cause bookings to return.

Yes Shaun had great chemistry with KMP and was a lovely man to meet at the stage door. Be interesting to see who comes in next, maybe a Josie?

Also ticket prices have crept back up for this. The £19.50 seats are now £24 for most nights throughout summer.

There was at least one instance of Joe being played by a woman on Broadway rather than a man (there could be more but I'm not aware of any) so in that instance she's called Josie. |
