Saw this yesterday with the todaytix rush - got row E stalls for the matinee. The initial allocation of rush seats sold out immediately but I checked back around 10:20 and another 10 had been released.
Thought the show was pretty good although (at the risk of sounding like my grandparents) the music and vocals were really over-amplified to the extent it was hard to make out the lyrics for a lot of the time. Thought the tone of the piece was a bit odd as it all feels very light and fluffy although some of what's going on is really quite dark. Not seen the film but possibly this oddness has happened in the transition from film to musical?
Anyway glad I saw it and the rush seats were a bargain.

On the Sara Cox Show Nick Grimshaw joked about how we won’t get any more sun now until August and Jack said something like “I’ll be long gone by then” so I assume he’s finishing in the next month or so also, but not sure if at the same time as Kat. |

Is there a way of checking Katherine McPhee’s holidays.
Gutted to have missed her yesterday after making the trip especially from Glasgow.
I would really like to see her before she leaves but limited to as when we can go.

I would really like to see her before she leaves but limited to as when we can go. Don't think she has any holidays; she's only doing a limited run, and I imagine she was a little ill yesterday. It the first time in the run she's missed a show, pretty impressive to be fair. |

What's on Stage have an casting "exclusive" at ten pm tonight.
Could well be the new Jenna news.

Kat and Jack came across well on the Sara Cox show but there wasn’t enough on Waitress in terms of discussing plot etc.However,it was a fun show and I did enjoy it.

Friend there tonight says all levels open. Glad to hear that on a Tuesday evening.
Hopefully it's finding it's feet now, I think we will have a solid year. Respectable by all means.

Hoping to return soon! I really hope it lasts beyond October 🙏 They do seem to be selling quite a lot of todaytix rush tickets at the moment and really good seats too. Now is def the time to buy them I think if you wanna see the show, because as things naturally get busier during summer and tourist season they might not sell as many! |

It totally does!! Need to see it again! Its a really nice theatrical experience with the milkshakes and smell. I felt like I was on broadway

If you’re going to stunt cast at least pick someone the public likes? Can she even sing? She seems SO miscast.

The Strictly audience never votes for Americans, however talented they might be.
That said, I don't think Ashley is much of a singer, and she seems a bit conventionally glamorous to play Dawn. I do think she's goofy enough to have fun with it, but it's the singing I'm worried about.

The only confirmed departures so far are Kat and Jack. Maybe it’s part of a marketing plan or covering Laura’s holiday. ‘For 8 shows only see PCD and Strictly star Ashley Roberts...’
Is she not a little statuesque for Dawn?

This is so sad for Laura if it’s true!
What happens when they chuck someone into a role? Does the original actor/actress get a payout? I imagine she had a 1 year contract.
Also Kat just posted on insta she’s going to New York to do a charity event and won’t be at the show for a few days!
