Couldn't see if he had a thread in here, and not sure if this should have gone in General Chat, but Brian Blessed providing a masterclass on life of the actor in the Richard Herring Leicester Square Theatre Podcast (or as the cool kids, put it RHLSTP); why can't NT Platforms be more like this? (not one to watch at work by the way) RHLSTP

He was once in front of me in the queue at Sunningdale post office and I can confirm that, even when asking for stamps, he is VERY LOUD.

On the set of Branagh's film "Henry V" the austere and reserved Paul Scofield was so helpless with laughter at Blessed's antics he asked for him to be moved away.

I heard Herring talking about this Blessed podcast - he was surprisingly dismissive about Blessed, "I wanted to get something new from him but he just did his act" and similar, he sounded quite negative about it. Odd. Unhappy he was totally sidelined possibly.

An Audience With Brian Blessed. Just out of the Grand Wolverhampton.Second row back for £30 and what a night! Covered everything from Everest to Metropolis to Ken Barlow and was very emotional and moving when talking about Cats the Musical, his love of the natural world and how he confronts the concepts of life and death.Sang some Pavarotti and recited Shakespeare with word-perfect diction. Also a very accurate mimic of Gielgud and O’Toole.Lots of belly-laughs in first half and more pensive in second.A FLASH of brilliance.5 stars.

He told a story of meeting a young girl on stage with her parents in the interval of ‘Cats’ as Old Deuteronomy. He asked her if she was enjoying the show. The girl replied ‘Yes’ with a very slow stammer.Brian started to apologise for putting the young girl on the spot, but the mother started to cry because this was the first time in the young girls’ life that she had ever spoken! Wow! I had read BB’s memoirs in the past, but most of his stories were new to me.Well worth a visit on the tour.
