Bill Murray And Jan Vogler Present: New Worlds
Comic actor Bill Murray and cellist Jan Vogler perform selections from their theatrical album, New Worlds.
Created in collaboration between Murray and the acclaimed German cellist Jan Vogler, the album is a blend of classical music and literary readings, exploring themes of American history and identity.
Performing with a chamber trio, Murray reads various texts: poems by Walt Whitman and passages from Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Ernest Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast, and Truman Capote’s Breakfast at Tiffany's.
These selections are interspersed with instrumental pieces by Bach, Ravel and Piazzolla and classic songs by the Gershwins, Bernstein, and Stephen Foster.
