Doddy has passed away at the age of 90
A real legend of the British entertainment scene for decades
Loved by many (loathed by theatre managers who never knew how long his shows would last - as he just kept on going and going and going)
A force of nature has left the stage for the last time

A truly great loss to the world of entertainment and one of the last few great variety and music halll acts.
I was lucky enough to attend of his shows here in St. Helens a few years ago. The man was just incredible and seemed to have limitless energy.
His.shows were of course legendary, but to be in the presence of an entertainment great was an experience never to be forgotten.

RIP Ken. A real Legend of Show Business in every sense of the world. As a fellow scouser all of Liverpool were proud of him and I guess there will never be anyone like him again.

First saw him in Blackpool over 50 years ago - he was a comedy treasure even then. RIP Sir Ken. A legend in his lifetime and now beyond.

My parents saw him on their honeymoon. Great Yarmouth. They said that people were literally rolling in the aisles. I aslways said “awww come on. Not literally!” And was told emphatically yes. People were laughing so uncontrollably that they were holding their sides and sliding out of their seats.

Probably the end of a generation of original comedic greats, think of Tommy Cooper, Morecambe and Wise, The Two Ronnies, Bruce Forsyth and Bob Monkhouse.

I had the delight of seeing him at the Futurist in Scarborough
An object lesson in knowing what you doing and turning up and doing it - until well after midnight!!!!
