At the Olympics it becomes about national prestige and not about bringing up a healthy and fulfilled generation. Balance needs adjusting for sure

The BBC might show more figure skating this week when the individual events start. Last week was the country team events. I've paid for access to Eurosport Player through the Amazon Prime Video app (£4.99 a month but you get a £5 Prime Video credit) because I prefer their commentary on the figure skating.

Some people are complaining that the suits worn by the British skeleton competitors are giving them an unfair advantage. Rubbish. Rocket boots are a traditional part of British dress. Stop oppressing our culture, you ethnocentric bastards.

OK, so that's over. I can go back to not caring about sports for a while, at least until the Paralympics. The BBC keep going on about inspiring people, and it's inspired me to excel at my apathy. If I'm going to be bad at sport then I'm going to be as bad as it's possible for any human to be.
Gutted that Evgenia Medvedeva didn't get the gold in the figure skating. The general consensus seems to be that the gold should have been hers but she was defeated by idiosyncrasies of the scoring.

Don’t forget, the Commonwealth Games start on April 4th. Australia, so late nights and early mornings again.
