Hey All
Does anyone know if there's a site a bit like our wonderful theatremonkey for shows on Broadway which lists all the discounts and deals available for shows?
Thanks

Playbill lists current discounts (you have to create an account and sign it but it's simple) Broadwaybox also lists, and Broadway spotted has an excellent list of rush policies and the current traffic on rush/lotto

BroadwaySpotted now redirects to DidHeLikeIt.com. I also found the rush reports to vary quite a bit in terms of accuracy, as well.

Fair enough! I found them quite useful on my last trip but could have been a fluke. Playbill lists rush policies as well which is easier than seeking out individual show websites etc at least.

Part of the problem was that posting the times would cause a bit of a chain reaction in that if someone saw that, say, a rush line started at 9, they'd show up at 8:30, tell the Rush Report person when they got there, the next person would show up at 8, etc... I'm not sure if this became an actual issue, but I wouldn't be surprised. Also, Playbill's stupidly redesigned site moved stuff around, so here's an easy link to the rush page: www.playbill.com/celebritybuzz/article/broadway-rush-lottery-and-standing-room-only-policies-116003

Oh can totally see that. The same as when people share on twitter etc what stupid time they were queuing from which causes knock on effect. I mainly used them for the policies and a general sense of what was or wasn't busy.

If I'm first in a dayseat or rush queue, I never tell people what time I arrived. If the second person asks how long I've been there, I'll just say "oh, not long". If a dayseat queue customarily starts around 8:30am but one person is really paranoid one day and turns up at 4am, then if the 4am person reveals what time they arrived, people could start getting the idea that the dayseat queue starts a lot earlier than 8:30am as a general rule. Assume the person at the front is an outlier and not the standard, and always work from what time the second person arrived.
